Chapter 5 - Welcome to Kingslanding

"You want to kill a pup? I really do regret letting you live. I should have let the last childbirth take you." Mordred's bones audibly creaked which made some back away and others give looks of disgust... Bones should not creak like that unless it's from a battlefield injury not from whatever this creepy situation is.

"Regardless of what you think you are a Kingsguard your duty is to protect the royal family! That mongrel bit my baby boy." Cersei hissed.

"Good gods... I have been slashed shot by arrows and impaled upon a pike when I was younger than your Joffrey and you don't see me whining like a little bitch. It's a small bite from a young little wolf pup!" Mordred laughed mockingly.

"You let that little girl disarm you..." Even Robert felt he was a shame to his family line if a small bite from a wolf pup made him a sniveling mess.

"Please love me bobby b..." Mordred laughed after saying it and Robert joined her despite not knowing what she meant.

"Enough!" Cersei yelled.

"Whatever woman... Ned see to it that your daughter is disciplined, I'll do the same with my son." Robert groaned.

"Gladly your grace." Ned nodded.

"And what of the dire wolf?" Cersei asked.

"You can't be serious! The Dire wolf is the symbol of house stark! Not to mention it's a pup not even a year old! It's a tiny little thing!" Mordred was outraged.

Robert finally remembered that the Dire wolf was very connected to his friends house.

"Enough woman. The little pup goes free! You make sure that you properly train that little thing alright girl?" If it weren't for Mordred things may have played out a lot differently.

"Yes, your grace." Arya bowed and gave a grateful look to Mordred.

"We have another wolf." Cersei smirked.

"Inbred wretch." Mordred snarled and walked out of the tent.

"I am not a product of incest!" Cersei hissed.

"Your father Tywin is a cousin fucker. Might as well be sibling fuckers, no wonder you turned out this way. Ask a Maester they will tell you that it is in fact Incest oh wait I am one!" Mordred waved her hand as her back retreated while flicking her Maester chain that makes clinging noises.

"Ugh..." Robert took a step back and gave a look of disgust when he looked at Cersei which made the Queen hiss and run away.

"Lord Stark, welcome to Kings Landing." Mordred bowed and extended her arm.

"it's very different. It doesn't smell anymore, and the houses look good. Also, it feels good to walk now" Ned looked left to right.

"Here." Mordred whispered and slipped a note into Ned's pocket and he took it out and read it.

-Worry not Ned, the dire wolf pup has been saved, and the Butchers boy has been sent to Dorne with his father. I used the tuffs of a dog from the street that had the same coat color to deceive Cersei.-

"Thank you." Ned smiled and patted Mordred's back as she led him into the Red Keep.

"Stark." Jaime had that stupid smirk on his face.

"Ned, don't punch him in the face no matter how tempting it may be." Mordred spoke aloud.

"You wound me Sir Mordred." Jaime put a hand on his breastplate with a fake pained look.

"You have a very punchable face. Now I must make my rounds. I mean it Ned don't give in to temptation!" Mordred waved as she walked down a hall.

///

"She was right, your face is just begging to be punched. You're a joke, no wonder the old kingsguard was reluctant to take you and they will take anyone. I mean, you are an immature halfwit moron." Ned really wanted to punch the man but settled for barbed words. He left a Jaime who felt like shit even though he hid it behind a smirk.

"Lord Stark" Varys presents the Hand's sash.

"I was grievously sorry to hear of your troubles on the Kingsroad. We are all praying for prince Joffrey's full recovery." Varys gave a fake smile.

"A shame you didn't say a prayer for the butcher's son." Stark sneered.

"We both know it's not necessary, Sir Mordred has observed the game for quite a long time and knows what she's doing despite acting like a brute thug most of the time. She's also smart." Varys grinned.

"..." Stark was conflicted on how easily Varys got that information and didn't like spies.

"Renly you're looking well." Ned motions to hug and Renly obliges.

"And you look tired from the road. I told them this meeting could wait another day but..." Renly was interrupted.

"But we have a Kingdom to look after. I've hoped to meet you for some time, Lord Stark. No doubt Lady Catelyn has mentioned me." Baelish grinned.

"She has, Lord Baelish, I understand you knew my brother Brandon as well." Stark smiled.

"All too well. I still carry a token of his esteem... from naval to collarbone." Baelish felt a phantom pain as he spoke but it was hidden behind his fake expression.

"Perhaps you chose the wrong man to duel with." Ned grinned.

"it wasn't the man I chose my lord, it was Catelyn Tully. A woman worth fighting for, I'm sure you'll agree." Baelish for once bared his emotions making Ned feel a small bit of pity for the man.

"I've heard your eyes follow Sir Mordred even though she is taken and prefers the fairer sex." Renly grinned. Renly admired how open Mordred was with her relationship and wished he could do the same.

"It's a pity but there is no law that states I cannot admire the view." Baelish smiled.

"I humbly beg your pardon, my Lord Stark." An older fellow spoke.

"Grand Maester." Stark nodded with a smile.

"How many years has it been? You were a young man." Pycelle smiled.

"And you served another king." Ned sent a conflicted gaze to the old timer.

"Yes, dreadful times those days were. I feared for my life on too many occasions. Oh, how forgetful of me. This belongs to you now. Should we begin?" Pycelle had a regretful face a real one not fake as he truly felt regret for serving the Mad King before he remembered the Token and gave it to Stark.

"Yes the Council can begin." Stark nodded and sat down.
