Whilst she was alive - and feeling a minimal amount of pain compared to what I wanted to inflict upon her - for now it wasn't a guaranteed state of being for her in the long term or even the short term, something she was well aware of.
That was likely why she was laughing - or at least trying to do so, but having a frozen torso sort of constricted the expanding and contracting of most of her muscles - rather maniacally as I stood over her.
"Y-You fool..! Strike one down and more shall take their place..! Strike me down yet it matters naught, for the objective..! Has been..! Accomplished!"
She began to choke on her words there at the end, the pressure of the ice wrapped around her chest and slowly creeping onto and then into her flesh forcing her to take smaller and sharper breaths as I just stared down at her.
"Have you? Or have you failed simply because you chose the wrong targets?"
