The instant I walked into the room two little bundles of joy and love rushed into my arms, doing their best to run on their little legs despite not being the most proficient at using them to even just walk.
Of course I covered most of the distance between us as I scooped them both up into a hug immediately, doing what a Mom should do and making things easier for them as well as pampering them with the love they deserved.
"It's been far too long, my little ones~! Did you miss me~?"
Alessandra was rubbing her face into my shoulder while Lakshmi grabbed ahold of my shirt and babbled at me in roughly incoherent sentences, her 'anger' going to war with her joy as she tried to articulate how much she had missed me.
My heart was far too warm compared to normal as I just nodded along and acted like I had any clue what she was saying, though upon hearing "Mommy!" in the midst of it all I just couldn't really help myself anymore.
