Half-awake in a dream, she was gathered into a familiar embrace.
Wanwan snuggled closer into his arms, mumbling indistinctly, "Is it noon already?"
"Still early…"
The man lowered his head and kissed her forehead, one hand patting her back lightly through the quilt, as if coaxing a little baby to sleep. "Sleep, I'll wake you up later."
"Mm."
Answering in a low voice, Wanwan blinked and slowly grew clear-headed.
The curtains weren't drawn, only the blinds were mostly closed, casting mottled grids across the room.
The bedroom was utterly quiet, so quiet she could clearly hear his steady heartbeat and breathing.
Wanwan lifted her eyes and saw Lu Changchuan with his eyes closed, looking very much like he meant to stay and sleep with her for a bit.
"What time is it?"
Wanwan asked softly, her voice hoarse.
She kept feeling like she'd slept for hours and hours already.
But judging by how bright the sunlight in the room still was, it didn't seem like noon yet?
