Cao Jinse didn't deflect or change the topic, instead she asked back, "If I said I never dated anyone, would you believe me?"
"I believe you."
Jiang Chen responded without hesitation, so quickly that Cao Jinse was taken aback.
She paused for a moment, then couldn't help but laugh, "Why?"
"I believe everything you say."
Jiang Chen replied calmly while eating.
It's definitely not flattery.
He might tell a little "white lie" once in a while, but in his experience so far, Cao Jinse almost never lies.
She would just not say anything at all otherwise.
Gazing at the serious and earnest Jiang Chen, Cao Jinse's smile grew wider.
"And if I said no one ever pursued me, would you believe that too?"
Jiang Chen continued nodding.
Not having been in a relationship is understandable, considering Cao Jinse's status; maybe she's too busy for romance, but to say no one pursued her is a bit bizarre.
