Chapter 8 - Prophecy

是Upon hearing what Rom said, the Wisdom Tree came to ponder.

'This kid is such a strange one. He accepted his situation faster than I thought even though he knew he was in another world. Besides that, according to him, he is a different person and not the real owner of the body. Anyone who is in his situation will definitely be deeply concerned. But he? He looks like it isn't of his concern. What kind of world did he come from? I want to know everything about him.'

Rom just stared at the magical tree while waiting for its answer.

Moments later, he noticed the magical tree finally opened its mouth.

"So far, I can't say. But I'll think about it. Let's talk again tomorrow about this," Wisdom Tree replied to Rom.

The Wisdom Tree couldn't just agree directly because it's an important weapon that the Wisdom Tree could use in their third duel.

Rom smiled slightly before he said, "I see. Okay then."

"By the way, you don't feel hungry?"

From this question, Rom suddenly realized. "No— ah!" He stopped and cried out. Only now did he realize that he had not eaten for a week but he did not even feel hungry.

He noticed a wry smile on the magical tree.

"Don't get confused. It's the effect of eating the Fruit of Intelligence."

"I see. That makes sense."

Rom then went back to lay down his back on the grass. He wondered why the tree asked him that if he knew already the answer. Perhaps just to make sure.

He stared at the sky again, wondering what to do from now on.

He needed to find someone qualified as the main character of the story he was about to write. He needed to find someone with the personality best suited as the main character. To do that, he must find a settlement where humans or humanoids were living.

The next morning,

Rom, Oreal, and the Wisdom Tree were having a serious conversation. They were finally able to introduce themselves to each other.

Meanwhile, Rom was sitting on a wooden stool and in front of him was a timber table. These two things just grew up from the ground after the magical tree used its magic power.

The fairy, Oreal, was sitting on top of the timber table. In front of her was a wooden bowl. Inside the wooden bowl, there was something they called Honey Soup. Rom noticed steam coming out from it.

He touched the bowl that was in front of him and figured it was hot, but not too much.

"Is this a magical food that will grant me another ability if I drink it?" He asked innocently.

"Fufufu. Did you think that all the food in this world will grant you unique power?" The Wisdom Tree chuckled.

"Huh? O-of course not. Ha-ha," Rom laughed shyly as he looked away.

The surroundings were so peaceful. Add to that the shouts of the insects and little animals around them. Based on what he heard, they were greeting everyone good morning and that it was another day for them.

This was a very different morning compared to his life in his original world.

Even though his mind was full of thoughts right now, this scenic spot gave him peace of mind.

When he saw Oreal sipping the Honey Soup using a plant stem as a straw, Rom's throat made a noticeable movement. After having a big sip of Honey Soup, Oreal made a big -AH!- noise.

Rom got curious and also took a sip of his Honey Soup. He brought the bowl towards his mouth. After having a sip of it, he learned that it tastes no different than ordinary honey juice.

"Delicious, right?" It seemed like Oreal just waited for him to try it so that she could ask this question.

"It tastes no different from the honey juice from my previous world," he replied honestly.

"Really? There's also honey in your world?!"

She suddenly looked like a child who was overjoyed when she heard his world also has the same honey.

Oreal's appearance was kinda unique. She has a pair of curly antennas on her head. Her hair was bobbed and long; the color was emerald green. Her facial features were no different from humans. She has a pair of round citrine eyes.

Currently, Oreal was wearing a one piece dress.

Wearing such a cute face and staring straight at him, Rom felt like he was melting deep inside like iron inside a furnace. He wanted to catch her and put her inside a glass case.

From her question, he nodded.

"Yes. There is."

"I want to go there!"

"Eh?"

Suddenly, he heard Oreal say, "Rom, maybe you're the child the prophecy mentioned."

He never thought this word would be spoken. 'This sounds like a plot in the novel,' Rom thought.

He replied saying, "I think that's impossible."

"Eh? Why do you think so?" Oreal tilted her head as she demanded an answer.

"Because I am the writer, the author, the maker of the story. Someone like me can't become the main character. And that child of prophecy you mentioned— it's a good role for the protagonist."

Noticing the confused expression on Oreal's face, the Wisdom Tree chuckled. "He's someone who writes down a tale."

"Oh! A scribbler?"

"As expected of a 100,000 years old master!" Rom mumbled with a dramatic expression. "Yes, the old tree is right. I am someone like that, a scribbler."

"I see. A scribbler, huh," Oreal repeated.

Rom then said, "'Regardless, thanks for mentioning the child of prophecy. I can use this in my story!"

"But…" Oreal looked straight at Rom. Her face was more serious than a while ago. "You can still save the world!" Oreal insisted.

Rom wondered why Oreal insisted on that. Why did he need to save the world? He's not a hero.

When he looked around him, he saw that the surroundings were beautiful.

"This world seems fine. So what's the matter?" He asked her.

Suddenly, Rom felt the atmosphere around them change when Oreal began speaking. Oreal then confessed to him what she knows. Rom and the Wisdom Tree were quietly listening.

After listening to her, Rom was dumbfounded at what he learned.
