After a couple of hours of walking through the streets, Xiao Ying finally reached the orphanage the system was leading him to.
The building was made of bricks and had two stories. The second floor had four windows spaced evenly apart from each other. A wooden sign above the entrance of the building read "Goldenbell Orphanage". Inside Xiao Ying could hear laughter of different kinds.
'I guess this is the place.' He thought.
'Goldenbell Orphanage; sounds kind of lit not going to lie.'
Looking up, it was already the afternoon and the sun was starting to set.
'It's already late afternoon, I guess i better hurry up and do this, huh.' He started having second thoughts
Xiao Ying steeled his nerves and walked up the steps to the double doors of the orphanage. He knocked after a few seconds of hesitation.
Footsteps was heard coming toward the door. They were heavy footsteps; the footsteps of an adult.
Opening the door, a huge man stood in the doorway. He had no hair on his head, but a full beard colored brown. His eyes were also brown. This man was pretty ripped, as if he was a body builder. He had on a pair of grey shorts and a regular white T-shirt.
"Yeah?" A very deep voice, almost beast-like escaped the man's mouth.
"Ummmm….is this orphanage accepting any kids…..?" Xiao Ying squeaked out.
After a few seconds of the man just staring at him, the man suddenly sprouted a smile as wide as a canyon.
"Hahaha! Of course young man, come on in out of the freezing snow!" Joyous laughter came out of the man.
"Honey! Another one showed up!" He yelled to someone in the other room.
"Oh, really? Bring him in." A sweet, melodious voice answered back.
"Young man, what's your name?" The man asked.
"Xiao Ying." Xiao Ying answered.
Holding out his hand, the man replied, "I'm Daniel. Nice to meet you, Xiao Ying."
Shaking his hand, Xiao Ying said, "Mhm. You too."
"Shy, huh? You'll get over it once you get used to us. Let's go meet the others."
Suddenly, the man seemed less mean and intimidating to Xiao Ying.
Looking around, he saw that the orphange was brightly lit and warm.
Xiao Ying followed Daniel to the other room where everyone was.
Once they reached the door way, he saw that it was actually a dining room and that dinner was about to be served.
In the middle of the room there was a huge wooden table and around that table sat 4 people: a woman, a girl, and two boys.
The woman had long blonde hair tied into a pony tail and blue eyes. Her waist was slender, and her skin was clear. She had curves in all the right places as well. The woman was very beautiful. She was wearing some grey sweat pants and a black long-sleeve shirt. Her clothes may have been ordinary and comfortable; however, it only accentuated her beauty. She seemed to be the one Daniel was talking to.
The girl looked like a younger version of the woman. The only difference was that the girl had brown hair and brown eyes instead of blonde hair and blue eyes. Her brown hair was short. The girl wore pink shorts with a white T-shirt. It seemed like the girl was the woman's daughter.
One of the boys had black hair and hazel eyes. His hair was short and he had no facial hair. However, he was pretty tall and lean. He looked average, though. This boy wore a black muscle shirt and a pair of black sweat pants.
The other boy was what they would call a pretty boy. He had short blonde hair and crystal clear dark blue eyes. His body was toned and defined; he looked like he never neglected exercise. He wore a grey T-shirt and some black shorts. His looks were killer.
The kids looked around 16 years of age; around the same age as Xiao Ying.
"This young man here is the new addition to our family. His name is Xiao Ying." The man announced.
Immediately, everyones eyes were on Xiao Ying.
"Nice to meet you." Everyone said at the same time.
The woman then said, "My name is Erica. This young woman here is Elizabeth. She's my daughter. Stand up, Elizabeth."
"Yes ma'am." The girl replied before standing up.
"This one's named Michael. He's just like you; he came here searching for a place to stay, and home he found. Would you be so kind as to stand up, Michael?" the woman continued speaking.
"Yes ma'am." The boy with black hair stood up.
"The last one's named after his father; his name is Daniel. He's my son. Daniel, stand up." The woman said.
"Yes ma'am." The blonde boy quickly stood up.
"Nice to meet you Mrs. Erica, Elizabeth, Michael, and Daniel." Xiao Ying decided to bow.
Everyone laughed at Xiao Ying's antics.
"And you too Mr. Daniel." He continued.
"You can just call me Dan." The son said.
"Okay."
Erica then spoke, "Daniel, go get him some of your clothes and a towel. We'll let him take a bath first before eating."
"Yes, mom." Dan did as he was told.
"As to your thanks earlier, young man, don't worry about it. Go take a bath and then join us for dinner. Show him where the bath is, son." Daniel said.
"Yes sir. Follow me Xiao Ying," Dan said after he came back from his room upstairs.
"The bathroom is also on the second floor," he spoke to Xiao Ying.
After following Dan to the bath and learning how to work the thing, Xiao Ying was left to his own devices.
The experts of this world learned how to use Qi to power every day appliances. The bath system was just like it was in Xiao Ying's past life; except this world had no concept of electricity like his world did, and only used different forms of Qi to heat and fill the tub with water.
"Finally, the bath I was waiting for!" Xiao Ying said while stripping and getting in the tub.
As he was doing so, the screen panel popped up, indicating the completion of his quest.
