Evelyn trudged on with her mind-numbing work.
Shard after shard was dragged closer to the others so that she could put back together whatever broken part of the Aethersphere she was working on.
At some point her thoughts had almost entirely ceased and she just continued to move like a sinner in hell. Forced to repeat the same repetitive task over and over again with no end in sight.
With every shard that she brought together it only made moving the next one more difficult as the added resistance built up.
So even though she had started with the one that was farthest away, the work never got any easier and each one felt like it was close to bringing her to her limits.
For what felt like an eternity, Evelyn kept going.
She had nearly lost herself in the work that both kept her own edge as she protected herself and drained her mental abilities with how monotonous it had all been.
