When Hayes Edwards finished playing basketball and returned home, the first thing he saw was Grace Winter running out with flour on her face, holding up a small cookie in her hand, "Hayes, you're back!"
He responded with a sound, "Mm."
"Look, this is a cookie I just made. Do you want to try a bite?" She held up the cookie higher, her face full of little expectations.
Hayes curled his lips, "You made this?"
Grace Winter nodded.
Hayes let out a cold laugh, "I won't eat it. I'm afraid it'll poison me to death."
Grace exclaimed, "Ah," took half a second to react, and then showed a disappointed expression.
Mother Edwards, who came out of the kitchen and didn't hear Hayes' words clearly, called his name, "What nonsense are you saying to Grace again?"
Hayes was still pretty intimidated by his own mother, "I'm not saying anything; I'm praising her."
"Better be, if I find out you're bullying Grace, watch out for your behind."
Hayes: "..." Is this really my mother?
