They ran off to sit on the stairs.
The chubby kid saw Grace Winter with a packet of crispy snacks, not knowing what to do with it. He reached over to take it from her, opened it, and added the seasoning, then shook it evenly by holding the bag closed.
Then he handed it back, "Here, try it."
They all bought the tomato-flavored ones.
Grace Winter opened the bag, took a bite, and the taste was completely different from what she imagined. It was crispy, with a sweet and sour tomato seasoning.
Very tasty.
"See, I wasn't lying. Isn't it good?"
Grace Winter nodded as she ate.
The chubby kid said, "Next time I'll treat you to spicy strips; those are even better."
Grace Winter was so into the crispy snacks that she didn't pay attention to what the chubby kid said. Nodding was enough.
When Hayes Edwards arrived, he saw them sitting on the stairs, each with a bag of crispy snacks, not caring about their image at all.
"Grace Winter!" he called out.
