Cradling his little face seriously, he asked, "Hannah, do you know this saying?"
"What saying?" Hannah was rather curious about what he was going to say.
"Life is precious, love is worth more, but for freedom, both can be cast aside."
Hannah: "…Where did you hear that?"
Evelyn Winter paused for a moment, then fidgeted with the seatbelt. "Where I heard it doesn't matter. What matters is—" He scratched his ears and cheeks. "It's freedom! Freedom! Do you get it?"
Hannah looked at him and shook her head, "Nope, don't get it."
Evelyn Winter felt a little aggrieved.
How could she not get it!
"I know now," Hannah suddenly spoke up.
Evelyn Winter quickly turned his head to look at her, his eyes bright, like he was hoping for something special.
She smiled teasingly, "You like freedom, so you're thinking about going off to wander, huh?"
