He turned his head and saw the corner of a notebook peeking out from his backpack.
After thinking for a bit, he replied with, "Haven't looked at it yet."
Hannah was lying on her bed resting, as their teacher had told them to, instructing them to take the day off, recharge, and not to study any problems.
So the moment she received Arnold's message, she responded with, "Then hurry up and take a look."
Even through the screen, her tone felt excited.
Arnold took out the notebook and placed it on his desk, and turned on the not-so-bright desk lamp. "What's written inside?"
"Just notes," replied Hannah quickly.
Arnold tapped the cover of the notebook with his fingertips and smiled, "Are you sure there's nothing like a confession written inside?"
