When Nangong Yue sprained her ankle, Chen Mo saw it. Noticing she was about to fall, he quickly walked over. Just as she was about to topple into the Celestial Pool, he wrapped his arm around her waist and with a little force, pulled her into his embrace.
The two of them were tightly pressed against each other. Nangong Yue did not resist; she allowed Chen Mo to hold her. She lifted her delicate face and, with a shy look in her eyes, gazed at the face so close to hers and said, "Thank you."
"Are you okay?" Chen Mo asked, noticing the faint pain etched between Nangong Yue's brows.
"I think I sprained my ankle," Nangong Yue said, placing one hand on Chen Mo's shoulder. She then bent down to remove the embroidered shoe from her left foot.
Nangong Yue wasn't wearing silk stockings. Her feet were beautiful, delicate and exquisite, white as jade. Because of this, the bright red mark on her ankle was quite apparent.
