After Ember fell asleep, Marietta quietly took him back to the nursery, and the room became unsettlingly quiet. Eva sighed into her teacup. She briefly thought of following Marietta to the nursery and spending the day with her children. It sounded so much better than training or anything else she might do.
"Would you like to visit your office today?" Chloe asked.
She had viewed much of the estate, but not where her office was or where the officials did business. Lucas had said nothing about them, and since this was all created by him, it felt like it was not her place. Yet she was curious to see where he worked.
"I am curious to know where Lucas slips off to when he deals with paperwork," she replied after a moment of thinking about it.
"Of course, my lady." She hid a smile behind her hand, and there seemed to be a sparkle of mischief in her eyes.
