Chapter 72 - Brutal!

ROOOOAR!

The sky rumbled as the dense achromic clouds occasionally lit up with a purple radiance for a brief second! The sound of crackling thunder made it seem as though the god of thunder was about to descend to the mortal world!

RUMBLE!

A bolt of lightning fell from the sky, easily penetrating through the ceiling of the steel cage, landing directly onto Kenta's body, which was slowly being consumed by red flames.

A tremendous sound echoed from the impact, as Kenta's body convulsed once he was struck by the purple lightning.

His body shuddered slightly until he completely stopped moving. Smoke was coming from all over his body as he lay on the ground.

Even after twenty seconds, his body stayed lying on the ground, unmoving!

Many of the spectators even wondered if he was dead; it was impossible to see his expression as his blonde hair covered his face messily.

"... Did he die?" A man seated in the audience asked. "..." However, no one answered his question, even though they didn't know what the answer was. Emerson sat comfortably in his chair, with one leg placed over the other.

He used the armrest of his chair to support his hand as he placed his hand against his bearded chin. He observed the purple lightning flickering around Kenta's body while narrowing his hazel eyes curiously.

He was really intrigued about the purple lightning bolt that fell from the sky, after all, it wasn't a colour he had ever seen before.

Meanwhile, standing on either side of him, Jessica looked at Kenta with concern, even though her expression hadn't changed. It was easy for someone like Leroux, who had known her for a long time, to guess her true feelings.

'What happened?' Han looked at Kenta's body in confusion. Was he really dead? He felt something was off; he was at least 99% certain that the lightning bolt was created by Kenta.

After all, it wouldn't take a genius to see that the thunder clouds in the sky weren't formed naturally. However, that remaining 1% gave him a bad feeling as he didn't hear any incantations, nor were there any magic formations that indicated he was using magic.

He could also sense a lot of magical energy inside the thunder clouds.

Hans raised his vigilance as he slowly approached Kenta's body; no matter what, he needed to confirm whether Kenta had actually died or not! He spun his flaming whip in a circle motion as he slowly approached Kenta with great caution.

The sound of crackling lightning continued to resound as he closed the distance. It was only when he had reached a distance of three meters that he stopped!

When he observed Kenta's body closely, he could see that the flame from his attack had been extinguished and only a large, gushing wound with blood stained remained there.

"Tsk, if you were going to commit suicide, then you should have done it sooner," Han said, scornfully. He turned his head to the man who was acting as the umpire.

He had completely failed to notice that Kenta's fingers were making subtle movements. The man acting as the umpire was exchanging glances with Emerson and was preparing to declare the end of the match, but he noticed Emerson shaking his head in refusal.

He wanted to ask why he was stopping him when he heard the crackling sound of lightning along with the sound of someone screaming.

The match was already over, wasn't it? He frowned in confusion.

Fortunately, he got his answers as the sound of thunder became audible.

RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!

The sky suddenly started acting strangely, the clouds moved, and twirled as though they were welcoming someone.

Suddenly, from the centre of the clouds, multiple bolts of lightning descended from the sky. Han's instinct promptly sent him danger signals as he moved away from Kenta's body with expeditious movements.

A large crater was formed from the point of impact as the lightning bolts fell onto the stadium. However, everyone was so stunned by the purple lightning that they didn't notice when Kenta had moved from that spot, or rather, their perception was unable to keep up with his movements.

Like a ghost, Kenta appeared behind Han! "Uh?" Han sensed someone was standing behind him and was preparing to move, but a hand entered his field of view and slapped him across the face.

Smack!

The loud sound of flesh being hit rang out as Han's body was sent flying from the force! Han's vision turned white as his body rolled helplessly across the ground, before coming to a stop.

However, without giving him time to come to his senses, Kenta once again appeared before Han and stomped down heavily onto his left hand.

Crack!

The sound of bones breaking became audible as his hand twisted out of place. "Arghhh!" Hans cried out in pain as he held his broken left hand. Kenta only looked down coldly at him as his blue eyes gleamed with killing intent.

"You wanted a death match; I'll give you one! We have a lot of spectators here. Why don't we entertain them for a while?" Kenta said, his face slowly began to distort as his lips turned upwards.

'Hmm... Did his aura change?' Jessica, who was watching from a distance, frowned. Something was different about Kenta's aura.

She wasn't the only one who noticed this; Leroux and Emerson both frowned as they watched the brutal scene before them.

Kenta brought his leg back slightly before kicking forward with all his might! "Guh!" His legs slammed against Han's chest, sending him flying! It was just a casual kick and yet... His body was sent flying in the direction of the electric cage.

BANG!

"AHHHH!" Hans felt pain... he felt excruciating pain from all over his body!

Han's body was electrocuted as it made contact with the cage. Finally, as the pain became unbearable, and he was about to pass out, Kenta took one step, and yet, he appeared before him, closing the distance as he thrust his fist into Han's chest, his chest caved in as the sound of bone breaking could be heard along with a painful grunt, "Cough! Cough!" Hans coughed up blood as he fell weakly to the ground.

BANG!

But Kenta then used his leg to stomp down onto his head, pressing it down onto the ground, creating small cracks on the stage. "Argh!" Hans groans as the back of his head is buried beneath Kenta's feet.

Kenta didn't know why; he felt great pleasure letting others bow before him! It was strange; he didn't like to bow his head before others, and yet, he enjoyed letting others lower their heads before him.

Was he a hypocrite?

Of course, he is, but... So what? Kenta didn't seem to care about the looks everyone was giving him as he continued to press down on Han's head until blood started to flow from his mouth and nose.

Kenta didn't notice that the strange markings were once again appearing on his skin. As the marks glowed subtly for an instant before disappearing completely.

More cracks gradually appeared on the stage as Kenta pressed Han's head deeper into the ground. 'Tch, this fucking bastard!' Hans tried getting up, but no matter how much force he used, he couldn't move an inch.

Finally, Kenta lost interest and removed his foot, but not before once again stomping onto his head, causing the crater to become deeper.

.... Silence. It was as if the entity called silence had arrived, as the many spectators just watched the brutal scene, gasping.

".... How cruel." A woman sitting in the audience said. "H-hey, isn't this a bit much?" A man said, as he stared at Kenta's back in shock.

"Are you kidding me? This is the best fight I've witnessed since coming here!" Another man spoke.

Many keep giving different opinions about Kenta's way of fighting. Some were excited, while others were glaring at Kenta as though he were a demon. However, Kenta ignored all of them.

Even though he believes he could easily kill Han right now, he didn't want to.

'Let's see which one of us will be the one screaming like a pig being slaughtered!' For a moment, Kenta's blue eyes turned blood red before once again turning back to their original colour.

Hans used his right hand to punch the ground as though venting his anger!

"Bastard!" He roared even as he coughed out blood. "Eh? Why are you looking at me like that? Isn't this a death match?" Kenta asked, tilting his head.

Coming here, he definitely wasn't expecting a death match. If this is what it takes for him to get stronger, then he will gladly welcome it with open arms.

'Tch, shit! I didn't think I'd have to use this...' Hans slowly took out a red pill from his pocket. Seeing the unfamiliar pill, Kenta became cautious as he narrowed his eyes slightly.

"Hm? That's a healing pill? Is that even allowed?" Leroux asked, "Of course it is, are you forgetting the rules? Anything is allowed as long as you can kill your opponent." Emerson commented.

"In real battles, you of all people should know you use any means necessary to kill your enemy." He continued.

"That's..." Leroux frowned and bit his lower lip. Of course, he understood that it was the basic knowledge for anyone who walks the path of bloodshed. 'Sorry, Kenta.' He thought quietly; he regretted not giving him something to heal his wounds as well.

As Hans swallowed the pill, he bit his lip as he felt his body healing at an impossible speed. The injuries he had received when coming in contact with the cage and the pain from his chest disappeared as though his body had gone back in time, to before he had received those injuries. Furthermore, his broken left arm also healed completely.

"Oh," Seeing how fast he was healing, Kenta raised an eyebrow in surprise. 'This healing, it's similar to when I'm healed by the soul eater sword. Though the process is on a smaller scale.' Kenta thought. He could easily see that Hans had fully recovered thanks to those pills.

However, he wasn't upset, quite the contrary, he was happy.

"Let's continue! I still haven't had enough yet." Kenta said, as lightning started to condense around his hand, taking the shape of a spear.

Hans once again swung his whip, which had red flames engulfing it.

The whip moved like a snake as it approached Kenta. However, he had no intentions of being hit a second time. Kenta leapt into the air, avoiding the whip, "Foolish! Do you think you can escape so easily?!" Han exclaimed.

To Kenta's surprise, the whip moved as though it had eyes and promptly changed its trajectory as it followed him in the air.

But Kenta spun midair, turning his body so that he was facing the approaching flaming whip from the front.

Lightning crackled around the spear as a blast of lightning was shot out from the front like a cannon! Lightning and fire met from the front!

BOOOOOOM!

A tremendous explosion took place in the sky. Instead of fighting against the strong winds, Kenta flipped his body to move along with the wind pressure as he fell to the ground smoothly.

Meanwhile, Han's whip retreated to the guard and once again took the form of a greatsword. Seeing his weapon go back to normal, he clicked his tongue in annoyance.
