The location changed...
Within a world which was surrounded by nothing but dried-up sand and dirt, a lone man stood firmly on his feet.
The man seems to be somewhere in his late sixties; his body was adorned with a black robe that fluttered with the strong winds.
His eyes were small, and if one were to stare at him from a distance, it would seem as though his eyes were slightly closed.
A long white beard that oscillated along with the gentle wind.
The old man stood on a small circular stage that would shine occasionally from the geometric Magic formation on the stone tiles. The stage was radiating with magical energy.
The man was one of the survivors of the last battle that was known as the most intense and overwhelming battle since the creation of the universe the "War of gods" They could have grasp victory if not for the appearance of the God slayer sword, many of the opposing gods who wish to usurp the throne were mercilessly slayed regardless of whether they were young or old, regardless of whether they were strong or weak.
All of them were killed!
When the god who comprehended the concept known as "Destruction" Was defeated, many of the opposing gods scattered and dispersed as they went into hiding. For the last billions of years, he had stood here in this unknown realm.
"... I see, so the god of death had managed to get his hands on the remnants of energy left behind by the god of destruction." The old man muttered in a hoarse voice. Comprehending a concept wasn't easy; most of the time, the gods were born directly to be the embodiment of whatever concepts they govern.
Only a few exceptional gods had ever managed to comprehend multiple concepts.
Concepts such as "Destruction" And "Creation" Were exceptionally more difficult to comprehend as they were universal laws that were extremely difficult to truly understand, just like how the concepts of "Life" And "Death" weren't something one could observe to completely understand.
However, if one were to study the energy of a certain concept, then it was possible to comprehend it, though their abilities would be significantly weaker than comprehending it naturally as a concept.
"Soon, the start of the next great war will begin; it's only a matter of time." The old man muttered as he turned his head to observe a certain place. What reflected in his slightly opened eyes was a strange creature, the creature resembled a wolf, its fur was pitch black in colour, its eyes were a deep shade of red, and it had large, beastly, sharp fangs.
The creature was a beast that was secretly raised by the "God of destruction", A beast he was planning on using as his trump card for the "War of gods" However, unfortunately, he died before he could fully utilise it.
For the past billions of years, the old man carefully nurtured the beast-like wolf from a small age. The wolf also has the concept of "Destruction", and its comprehension was even far greater than the god of destruction.
The beast couldn't leave that isolated space since it wasn't able to suppress its aura of destruction. Wherever the energy spreads, all that awaits is destruction!
He didn't want to alert the other gods, after the "war of gods" The gods in the upper realm had been careful against any possible uprising, those who wish to usurp would be eliminated without mercy regardless of who they are once their intentions is known, the king of the gods the one who stood at the absolute top of the universe would not put up with any possible treason.
Even now, the former high-ranking gods who had managed to survive that war were in hiding.
The old man who goes by the name, Bernard had to vigilantly watch his back.
After he had seen both Lincoln and Alina with the remnant energy of the void energy, he was tempted to get the remainder for himself, "... No, it's not worth the risk. Those other gods should also have felt the aura of death. I can imagine they are going to be on guard for the time being."
He shook his head somewhat disappointed. Void energy was a special energy that could only be found in the abyss. An isolated space which held chaotic energy in abundance. The energy generally found inside the abyss is usually known to be very lethal to gods whose divinity was very vulnerable to corruption.
However, Bernard was confident he could somewhat handle the chaotic energy from the abyss.
However, opening up a rift to that place was no easy feat even for him.
If he sets foot inside the lower world, then he would be at risk of getting ambushed by the other gods, even though they weren't as strong as the high-ranked gods of the upper realm, they were still formidable.
"Perhaps I should just stay here and observe for the time being. I still have to look after that little one a bit more until he fully matures a bit... in any case, the god of death seems to be orchestrating something very interesting, maybe he could be of some use."
"... Then again, I'm not sure he can survive the full wrath of the heavens, as he had disturbed the balance quite a bit," Bernard muttered lazily as he turned his gaze up towards the clear, endless red sky.
His hazel eyes seemed to look beyond the reddish skies as he stared off into space.
Myriads of tiny stars shone occasionally, lighting up the vast space. However, invisible to the naked eye, there was a strange dark energy circulating through space.
For a normal observer, they probably wouldn't be able to notice the abnormality.
However, to the eyes of a god, they could clearly see the state of the universe. The energy gradually spread throughout the vast space, causing the space to tremble, and spatial cracks appeared occasionally while closing abruptly.
It was a sign that the natural "Order" Was now unbalanced.
And the reason for this was simple, the "Reincarnation cycle", A system that kept "Order" In check, was now disturbed. It wouldn't be long before the true gods living in the upper realm would notice this abnormality.
Once that time comes, Bernard couldn't imagine what would happen after that; probably only gods who had the divinity of clairvoyance could predict such an outcome.
"... But it's fine. Many are destined to fall from the sky anyway; it's only a matter of time." Bernard said to himself as he closed his eyes. The strange geometric Magic formation continued to release magical energy as he stood there in silence.
...
Meanwhile, back inside the temple of power....
Kenta stood in silence as he stared at Lize incredulously. "You are tired of this world?" He repeated her earlier statement in confusion.
Seeing him looking at her with a strange expression, Lize smiled slightly as she asked. "Why do you seem so surprised? If you have lived as long as me then you would realize how uninteresting this world really is."
"I don't know what exactly Hendrix is planning, but I can say confidently that no matter what, whatever it is you are planning is going to be ten times more interesting than living monotonously as a powerful rank goddess for eternity in this small little planet."
"Y-You don't think you are overestimating me a little?" Kenta's brow furrowed slightly.
"Since the beginning, I had already known what my real goals are... vengeance is my only goal. As for the gods, that's none of my business... even if I am Hendrix's reincarnation, his own goals mean nothing to me, why should I care about a past life I don't even know?" Kenta asked.
Lize's eyes widen slightly. It was only a brief moment, but she could see a strong glint in his deep red eyes. For a moment, Hendrix's arrogant face popped into her head. 'Those two are really a lot alike.' Their appearance was different, even without memories, Kenta was much like Hendrix that Lize couldn't stop the chuckle that escaped her mouth.
Lize couldn't help but be amused by the young boy before her.
Honestly, she couldn't help but find him interesting. In the past, her relationship with Hendrix wasn't anything special, as the two never really said anything to each other aside from occasional greetings, though the greeting was completely one-sided.
'Should I perhaps introduce him to big sis Isis?' Lize considered it for a moment but ultimately shook her head, a bit dejected. However, Kenta had a not-so-pleasant look on his face from the possibility of being laughed at and asked.
"Mm... why are you laughing?" Kenta frowned. He didn't understand which part of his words was funny.
"Fufufufu! Oh, don't mind me... It's just that you're so much like Hendrix that I couldn't help myself. It's like I'm looking at a baby version of him, ahahaha!" Lize chuckled as she held her chest.
The corners of Kenta's lips tremble slightly, and for an instant, he couldn't tell whether or not he should be honoured or insulted that he was being compared with a dead man, even if that man was a once-feared god from the distant past. And although he seemed as though he wanted to say something but only sighed in the end.
"Anyway, regardless of whether I will make a difference in this world and appease your endless boredom or not, let's save that for the distant future... There is something else I'd like to ask you." Kenta said with a serious expression.
And upon seeing his serious face, Lize also wore a similar expression on her face. "... Can you tell me more about the current state of the gods and goddesses who live in this world?" Kenta inquired. This was a good chance for him to learn more about them.
There was a possibility that he would one day end up becoming enemies with the gods. And so, he also wishes to know more about them... sure, he had the book that apparently had information about them, but Kenta wanted to know the information that could be given to him directly by Lize.
After hearing his question, Lize frowned slightly and shook her head with a sigh.
"Unfortunately, I can't openly speak about certain gods or goddesses who have a higher status than I do... I can only give you information about the low-ranked gods and goddesses. But that information isn't worth mentioning, but..." Once Lize had said that much, her expression froze as she frowned deeply.
'... This is the aura of death?' Her beautiful pink coloured eyes shone with a light of confusion.
"Stay here and don't leave this isolated space. I'll go out for a bit." Lize said to Kenta before she opened up a spatial rift and left the room. Leaving behind a confused Kenta.
