Chapter 15 - Complete victory.

The bulky man stared at Kenta cautiously, not missing a single movement of his body.

Now that he had seen his strength, he could no longer treat him as though he were dealing with a child.

He was an enemy. The bulky man stood up firmly on his feet and grasped his sword tightly in his hand.

Seeing that Kenta's expression became serious, he kept a firm grip on his broad sword and took a natural stance.

"I'm Grayson. What is your name, boy?" He asked, gazing at the boy who stood before him.

"... I'm Kenta Logan." He said simply, reading his sword.

"I see... well then, Kenta, you're going to regret becoming my enemy." He said, then charged forward. Grayson then swung his sword downward, putting all his weight into his swing.

"Tch." Seeing that, Kenta clicked his tongue. He then watched the movement of his sword before swinging his own sword vertically upwards.

The two respective swords clash. The sound of metals clashing resounded in the hall. Kenta's body was pushed back slightly due to the difference in size.

However, there was a great difference between their respective weapons. The black blade of Kenta struck Grayson's sword; a small dent was visible to Kenta's blue ocean eyes.

"Damn it!! What kind of sword is that?" He asked, shouting as he put more strength into his grip.

A loud metallic sound reverberated as Kenta put more strength into his hold, sliding his sword to forcefully change the trajectory of Grayson's sword.

He couldn't win in terms of strength, which was obvious to him.

The hallway was also too narrow. In that case. All he needed to do was to change his fighting style into something which gave him the advantage.

Using his speed, Kenta separated from Grayson, then he swung his sword at Grayson's right shoulder.

"Tch." Sensing the immediate danger, Grayson clicked his tongue before moving his body slightly to the left. Kenta's sword cut through empty air.

'Damn it, fighting inside a narrow hallway isn't good. I'll have to find a good place where I have the advantage.' He thought, smirking.

"Heh." He thrust his palm forward, attempting to strike Kenta in his abdomen. He promptly moved to the side, dodging the palm coming towards him.

Using that opening, Grayson dashed through the hallway, jumping over the 10-layer staircase.

"What is he planning?" Kenta muttered, watching Grayson's retreating figure. He then gazed at the black blade of his long sword.

"Hmm… Is this sword giving me power?" He uttered, before running in the same direction as Grayson.

At the same time Kenta and Grayson were locked in battle, Nessa, Charlotte and Rick were able to escape the mansion through the open window.

It was a drop that would surely end their lives in normal condition, luckily. Inside the room, there were plenty of soft pillows.

"Phew, it was a good idea to use the cushion to soften our landing," Rick said, gazing at Nessa with eyes filled with admiration.

"Yes, it was a brilliant idea," Charlotte said, agreeing with Rick's words.

"Sigh… well, I think we were really lucky the cushion was able to endure the weight of our fall," Nessa said, and a relieved smile showed on her face.

Though she wasn't as optimistic as the others.

'There's a chance guards are still outside, we need to leave the mansion as soon as possible,' She thought with a grim expression. "Mm, are you cold, Charlotte?" Nessa asked, gazing at Charlotte, who was slightly trembling.

"No, I'm fi-fine." She said with a wry smile on her face, contrary to her words. Her teeth were chattering loudly.

Her white cheeks also had a tinge of pink. Nessa gazed at the night sky. Because they were in a hurry, they all left without taking any supplies. Food, water and clothing are significant for survival.

The cold, howling wind gently caressed their skin, making them more aware of how cold the night temperature was.

"We can't stay like this; we need to get to the main gate," Nessa said, her soft voice laced with urgency. The situation was no joke.

Deeming it to be too dangerous to head to the front, she decided they should go to the back and sneak out through the mansion's gate.

Meanwhile, back inside the mansion.

"Where is he?" Kenta mumbled, greatly frustrated. He had already searched all around the mansion, but he couldn't find him anywhere.

"Did he run away?" He looked into the bathroom of the lower level of the mansion, but he still couldn't find him.

"Hmm… he isn't on the upper floors, so he has to be here." He spoke.

Chatter~ chatter~

The sound of the sword hilt was audible to his ears.

'Don't tell me… I let him get away.'

"Damn it!"

Feeling the intense emotions of Kenta, the sword responded, the blade as black as the night sky, and released a red and black energy.

The energy spread across the vicinity, surrounding the entire room, anything and everything the energy comes into contact with, we're all disintegrated into dust.

"Hmm… did I do that?" He uttered, completely confused.

'This sword was it responding to my wish?' He thought that finding the enemy was his main goal.

With all the obstructions of the furniture present inside the room, the sword responded by removing all the obstructions that dared to get in the way of its master.

"Haha, it seems I've made a new friend." He said, with a wry smile on his face. Although he didn't know if the sword had a will of its own, Kenta felt a familial closeness towards the sword.

He promptly went into the larger living room filled with extravagant-looking furnishings, though he honestly felt bad because of what he was about to do, but it couldn't be helped.

Kenta held his sword tightly as red and black energy filled it.

He swung it downward, following the movement of his sword, the energy wave once again spread across the room, disintegrating everything it came into contact with.

In mere moments, the large room, which was once filled with extravagant-looking furniture, was completely emptied. Kenta then swung his sword in a certain direction.

"Tch." Grayson's brow furrowed, and he frantically swung his sword vertically when he was suddenly attacked. He planned to attack Kenta when he had dropped his guard. However, his plan was turned upside down when the furniture was instantly cleared.

"Tch, you really are a monster, aren't you?" Grayson said, showing a face as though giving up.

The energy from Kenta's blade slowly spread to his sword, slowly disintegrating it.

"Soon, you will be my nourishment, as well as those bastards who stole from me before." He uttered coldly. His blue eyes glinted dangerously.

"Haha… your eyes are no longer the eyes of a child."

He said, gritting his teeth, desperately enduring the sensation of his body being disintegrating, in seconds, all that remained of him were ashes scattering around.

Kenta gazed at what remained of his body and scoffed.

"Who said I was a child? My path is true vengeance."
