Jacob's senses swept through the surrounding darkness again, but there was absolutely nothing. Moreover, even if he wanted to, he couldn't detect any change, much less determine whether Immortal Nimrod was preparing another attack.
That was precisely why Jacob remained cautious.
'Something isn't right.' His instincts were warning him, 'But what?'
Jacob couldn't tell, and that was the problem. He had already encountered Void Law before. He had spent decades within Whiteness's dreamscape realm and had experienced the terrifying nature of the Void Mantis.
Yet this was different for Immortal Nimrod's Void Law was simply too profound. It wasn't merely concealing something. It was making the very existence of that something impossible to perceive.
Jacob's eyes narrowed as he suddenly discarded the thought, 'No... if he's preparing an attack, Mortal Danger Sense should react. At least until he's in that avatar or didn't have something ridiculous as the Fateless Celestial!'
