Jacob returned to the secret underground chamber, and he finally felt like himself again. Nonetheless, he remained in a daze for a while since what he just experienced couldn't be described in words. It was like a vivid dream, yet not at the same time.
"W-what just happened!? I suddenly felt your consciousness wasn't here for a second…?" Nyx's bewildered yet worried voice sounded.
Nyx, as a Beast of Primordial Nightmare, was sensitive to illusions or anything related to them; that's why she instantly caught the change in Jacob's consciousness despite Jacob cutting off her vision ever since he had entered the Temple of the Blazing Flame.
Jacob snapped out of his stupor and asked with a hint of surprise, "Only a second has passed?"
"Indeed, that's why I wasn't able to react in time. Just what is going on out there?!" Nyx asked with a frustrated tone.
"Nothing, just focus on your task at hand." Jacob impassively said, and no longer paid attention to Nyx.
