After picking a name for our baby, Vera and I returned to the living room together. She cradled Rona carefully in her arms, her movements slow and protective, as if the world itself might shatter if she moved too quickly.
I cleared my throat, drawing everyone's attention.
"We've decided on a name," I said, my voice steady. "Her name is Rona."
For a brief second, the room was silent, then loud applause erupted.
Claps echoed against the walls, smiles spread across everyone's faces, and a few of my women even let out soft cheers. Vera smiled brightly, her eyes shimmering with relief and happiness. Jill clapped the loudest, while Aurora clasped her hands together as if she'd been waiting for this moment.
"Rona…" Jill repeated softly. "It suits her."
