Chapter 75: The Third Day of the Festival (IV).

Academy: Grand Library

===

The great doors opened with a hush, revealing a library unlike any other. Towering shelves curved in graceful arcs, stretching impossibly high into a ceiling veiled by soft, floating lights. Each orb glowed with steady, golden warmth, illuminating rows upon rows of books that seemed to breathe with quiet life.

"I can't stop being in awe of this place." Some volumes of books floated gently through the air, pages fluttering like wings as they glided between shelves or settled themselves on reading tables.

They moved with purpose, as if the library itself remembered who had read what, and where each book belonged. A ladder rolled smoothly along one of the tall bookcases, shifting on its own as if anticipating the next curious reader.

Despite its vastness, the library felt calm- like the hush before a snowfall. The scent of parchment, aged wood, and a hint of lavender filled the air. It was a place made for discovery, where knowledge didn't just wait to be found, it offered itself.

"As expected there's not much students around here." (Analissa) follows the trail leading to the most secluded corner of the library. "The security has been done… by game time I only have three hours or less to finish this event. I have to get that wand soon, I promised to Losimer that I'll be back with popcorn and everything..."

She feels bad that Losimer had to be tricked like that, his cute bird face was so excited and happy when he heard that she'll be bringing some caramel popcorn soon.

'If I could get that wand of light… it'll unlock one of the spells you can learn with it… the spell to bring someone back from a near death experience.' The wand of light is a powerful magic item indeed. Even if someone was running out of blood as long as they're still breathing and conscious

Bringing back someone from the dead is also a possibility but- with it comes consequences.

A life for a life.

"..."

But for now she's looking for the wand to make sure that's never going to be one of her choices. The wand is very important to the story progress if you want to beat the final bosses easily in the end.

"I can use the wand to save Lady Evelyn when the time comes." She hurries down to one of the bookshelves, eyes squinting and reading each one. "Let's see if I still remember how to arrange this."

With a little jog of memory she manages to reorganize the books on a certain shelf as the password.

"First is the book of demons." The demon and human kingdom, usually just like any other plot, are destined to be enemies. The reason why it was first is because it's rather biased, humans considered their number one enemy to be the demons.

Yet along the way… the demon king love interest that would appear in the second hand of the story when the heroine is in their second year- would need a Queen capable of handling the love interest.

If you take his route you'll be the next Queen of the demon kingdom.

However, that's not the only one.

"Next is the book of Elves." The lore on this one is rather complicated, because before the demons the humans were under the care of elves. They were considered to be their servants but not until the first human kingdom was established with their own monarchy and power- the elves had been half and half.

A few were supportive and the other… still stuck to their profession.

The elf prince- one of the love interests formerly second in line to the throne but his eldest sister decided to take on a low profession of teaching nobles in different academies finding no use of ruling a kingdom, now he's been crowned as the crown prince of the elven kingdom.

Click.

She takes in the books in the proper arrangement, each time hearing a faint click.

"The book of Dwarves… and lastly, the book of humans."

In order to gain the password you needed to collect and earn some clues from some of the side quests in the game while interacting with the love interests. "Each love interest would have their own route and dive deep down on other kingdoms."

'Thankfully, I remember the order arrangement after failing endlessly and then searching the right combination to be sure on the web.' She chuckles to herself remembering that experience with the rest of her audience on chat.

'Chat do I have to arrange this in color and size?! What a dumbass game making me look like I can't solve this from memory.' She had to double check her other monitor for clues. 'Why is it not working? I thought it was just… oh wait I placed it wrong. It's just rearranging a shelf-! How come it's this hard?!'

The Japanese streamer was bombarded with superchats, asking in concern if she ever needs to go to school to read properly they'll give her some allowance.

"Ahahaha… yeah that's not a good memory to look at. On the good news, the code to the archives is now stuck in my brain." And it's in the hands of a logical braincell holding it with a happy smile.

Click.

A sharp click pierced the silence.

The shelf trembled, then creaked as it slowly began to rotate, grinding against hidden mechanisms deep within the wall.

Dust trickled from its edges.

As it turned, a narrow passageway emerged from the shadows- cold, silent, and waiting like a held breath.

"Sweet I still got it."

Thud!

"...?"

Analissa stiffened a little hearing a book fall out of a cart. The moment she turns back she could've sworn that she was all alone in this library just like that event in game.

"Huh."

But… her stomach tells her that someone's following.

"Must've been my imagination." With pressing matters at hand she decided to focus on the mission without lowering her guard.

'I don't want to assume or feel paranoid… I should go ahead first… then ambush whoever's following me into a corner. Best to throw them off as early as possible if I can.' (Analissa) walks inside of the path to the hidden archives, having no source of light she conjures a small little ball of light from the palm of her hands.

"[Light Magic: Light Orb]." She turns to the corner and quickly puts it away, hearing careful and gentle footsteps going in the same direction waiting for her prey.

"..." This is a once in a lifetime chance to get that wand of light, if she can't complete this important side quest then she'll be severely weakened in the future.

Another footstep echoed, too careful to be casual.

"AHA-!"

"...?!"

Without warning, she sprang from the shadows. Her shoulder met his chest in a swift motion, catching the figure off balance. He stumbled, and with a practiced twist, she pinned him to the stone floor between two shelves, a knee to his chest and her hand raised with a spark of the light orb from before.

"DON'T THINK I'M JUST GOING TO LET YOU FOLLOW ME AND GET OFF UNSCATHED-!"

But when her eyes met his- cool, steel blue beneath a lock of hair she froze.

"Lord Ein?!"

He grunted, more surprised than hurt. "You move faster than I expected," he muttered, lips quivering in faint amusement.

"LORD EIN?!" (Analissa) calls his name once more, now in an angry manner.

Lord Ein laughs weakly, happy that she could see the blonde girl doing well after what happened yesterday. "Hahaha… ow, I heard you for the first time. Greetings Miss Analissa, it's me."

"W-What the hell are you doing here following me like that?! I thought you were some weirdo stalking me!" (Analissa) quickly helps him up and pats his shoulders, feeling guilty of pushing him down. "Also what's up with yesterday and you suddenly bailing out on what's supposed to be your job?!"

Lord Ein adjusts his cuffs, noticing how this tiny thing who was so weak suddenly became so strong. "You've gotten stronger."

Analissa blinks at the sudden compliment realizing he was right, she's not sure when her strength changed.

She didn't even expect she could pin Lord Ein so hard like that.

Could it be… that after being well taken care of not only by Farrah and Lady Evelyn feeding her three times a day, sometimes being spoiled, her nutrition and body became balanced!

"Haha… I mean you know it's because I've been eating so well recently that I have lots and lots of energy preserved. Am I really that strong now?" She proudly places both of her hands on her waist.

"Yes, very strong." (Lord Ein) gave his classic handsome smile hearing that she's well.

Analissa, seeing this, shakes her head and thought Lord Ein was just giving her some sweet talk so she'll forget every irresponsible thing he did to her yesterday!

"Ahem, just because you're giving me the sweet talk doesn't mean I'll forget what happened yesterday." She crossed her arms, eyes narrowing as she watched him brush dust off his coat like nothing had happened.

The knight gave a short sigh and adjusted his collar. "I wasn't trying to sweet talk you. I was trying to stop you from doing something reckless- you know I mean you no harm."

Lord Ein folded his arms but said nothing, the silence between them thick with unspoken tension-

He… just wants to help the heroine realize her true feelings!

"My apologies, I had something to do yesterday. It was an… emergency that I couldn't afford to not attend." He tries giving an excuse but the Japanese streamer noticed that he can't look her in the eye.

Meaning he's guilty and lying!

"Sonna koto iwanaide kure!" (Analissa) could see through his lies, you can really tell the Japanese streamer was not happy she even started speaking in her native tongue in anger. "That's bullshit!"

Lord Ein, who doesn't know the meaning of what Analissa said, tilts his head. "Um… bullshit?"
