Watching Damon Hawke get into his car after exchanging just a few words with Eleanor Shaw, without even glancing at her, Evelyn Miles struggled and shouted loudly at Eleanor Shaw.
Eleanor Shaw's face turned pale as she watched Damon's car disappear in a cloud of dust. Realizing what had happened, she raised her hand and slapped Evelyn Miles hard.
"Samantha, get a grip! Look at yourself now! Come back with me!"
The slap landed heavily.
Evelyn Miles was stunned, stars bursting before her eyes, her cries abruptly cut off.
Eleanor Shaw's hand was shaking; she supported the dazed Evelyn and quickly helped her into the car.
She was in utter chaos.
Her mind was blank, unsure of what to do next!
The phone rang.
Eleanor Shaw glanced at the incoming call and it was as if she found a savior.
"Luke."
Hearing Eleanor's choked voice, Gabriel Miles quickly asked, "Eleanor, what's wrong?"
