Chapter 7 - Chapter 5 [Scholars] Pioneers

"Where is Uncle Billy?"

Lin Ke turned around and naturally asked.

John immediately thought of Butler Billy who was whipping the other servants, and shivered: "Butler Billy... should be busy?"

Lin Ke walked in front, not seeing John's expression, and continued to ask: "Busy with what? Afternoon tea just passed, is he preparing dinner? The kitchen?"

John nodded and then quickly shook his head.

He had sworn not to deceive his young master: "I'll... I'll go find Butler Billy, young master, you wait for me in your room!"

Lin Ke was unfazed: "Alright, I'll wait for you on the third floor."

The castle has five floors, the fifth floor was only accessible to him and his father, and it housed his father's study and bedroom.

The fourth floor was where he and his mother, and the main family including the first wife, lived.

The third floor had reception rooms, dining rooms, and other public areas.

The second floor consisted of some guest rooms and quarters for some of the servants.

The lowest floor was composed of the guards' residences and slaves' quarters.

And underground, there were dungeons, wine cellars, and the like.

The overall appearance of the castle was round, built around a central stone pillar. The stone stairs surrounding it allowed four people to walk abreast and connected all the floors.

Rooms were connected by passages, and each room had a balcony or vent outside.

Outside the room walls were the crossbow arrow towers.

The structure of the whole castle wasn't complicated.

Now, the place Lin Ke was going to was the dining room on the third floor.

After talking with Billy, he would have dinner, saving another trip.

I have to say, life here over the years has made him quite lazy.

"Alright, young master, I'll go find Butler Billy at once!" John hurriedly ran downstairs.

Lin Ke smiled, John was always like that, silly and impatient.

He, on the other hand, stepped at a leisurely pace, slowly going down.

The interior of the castle should have been very dark, but it was lit with oil lamps everywhere, so it didn't seem dark at all.

Just when he arrived at the dining room, he saw Butler Billy already there waiting for him.

"Young master, you are here." Butler Billy bowed slightly with elegance, appearing a bit out of breath, seemingly just busy.

"Uncle Billy."

Lin Ke nodded, pulling Billy's hand and heading towards the dining room: "Come on, come on, I want to ask you something."

He didn't have much strength, but Billy's body was easily pulled by him.

Letting him feel like he was pulling someone but not being too fast or needing to exert much effort was Billy's control over his strength.

As they walked into the dining room, Lin Ke casually found a spot to sit and gestured for Billy to sit opposite him.

This time, no matter how much he insisted, Billy wouldn't sit.

"Uncle Billy!" Lin Ke glared: "I order you to sit down!"

He always regarded Butler Billy as an uncle.

It's important to know that when he was young, Butler Billy often protected him in secret; he was aware of it.

In the castle, if there was anyone else to trust besides his mother, it would definitely be Butler Billy, even more than John.

"Young master, I'm fine standing." Butler Billy smiled gently: "You want to ask about the profession, don't you?"

Sure enough, as soon as the profession was mentioned, Lin Ke's attention was immediately diverted.

"Yes, yes, Uncle Billy, what is a profession? Why haven't you mentioned it before?" Lin Ke didn't have to pretend to be naive and cute in front of Billy, as perhaps Billy understood him the most in the entire castle.

Billy smiled, understanding from Lin Ke's relaxed demeanor that Lin Ke fully trusted him.

So his voice softened further, as if telling a story:

"The master, who is your father, was a great professional... Professionals are indeed the most powerful beings in the world, even great gods shy away from them."

Billy completely treated Lin Ke like a child wanting to hear a story, just like his nephew.

Lin Ke nodded and directly asked: "Then how can I become a professional?"

Faced with this question, Billy seemed to have anticipated it and answered: "Young master, you will also become a great professional in the future, and the first step on the path to Azanen's glory is on your sixth birthday."

Saying this, Billy seemed a bit longing: "Then you will awaken your own bloodline, then choose the suitable profession according to your bloodline and become a great professional."

Awakening the bloodline, choosing the right profession, and becoming a professional!

So this is the process...

However...

Lin Ke asked again: "What do you mean by professional, Uncle Billy? I mean... is the professional a term for a cultivation method?"

"Oh? The young master knows about cultivation methods?"

Billy smiled: "Professionals can be considered a general term, a collective term for a type of people... There's still an hour before dinner, would the young master like to hear about the legend of the origins of professionals?"

Lin Ke nodded eagerly.

There's a legend?! He really wanted to hear it!

Besides, legends that seem legendary might not just be legends, but might be historical stories passed down by word of mouth.

"Once upon a time, this world was ruled by gods. They were greedy, petty, but also powerful and haughty." Billy's tone was full of disdain, then continued:

"Then someone named Andrew appeared, who followed a large group of mages and warriors to establish the professional system..."

"Wait... ma... mages and warriors?" Lin Ke asked with wide eyes: "Andrew? Andrew of Andrew's Leg?"

Andrew's Leg, interesting.

"Yes, I should say the oldest professions [Mage] and [Warrior], so ancient that they can be traced back before the birth of the gods."

Billy smiled, eyes filled with longing, continuing: "And Andrew's Leg, it's said that Lord Andrew was somewhat short, hmm... Lord Andrew and those pioneers, on top of the [Mage] and [Warrior] professions, also founded the great professional system, ultimately sweeping that batch of parasites into the dustbin of history. The parasites, you know, young master."

Lin Ke nodded to show understanding.

It wasn't hard to guess that these parasites were probably a metaphor for gods, like in his past life, using terms like 'bastard' or 'son' as terms for college roommates.

Of course, whether the gods were powerful or not, Uncle Billy might not know.

After all, based on reading experience from his past life, gods were often formidable all the time.

Furthermore...

The King of Gods Zelnytar who he had previously defeated with just words.

That Divine King was so weakened that he couldn't even kill him, a child, yet still caused phenomena just by announcing his name.

That's not an ordinary ability.

He even remembered those "curses."

Lin Ke continued listening, also internally respecting Andrew, for creating a new era, and for being a name that the King of Gods couldn't forget even before death.

"... At that time, Mr. Andrew and the others first created the [Scholar] profession based on [Mages]..."

"[Scholar], the origin of all!"

Butler Billy continued the story: "[Scholar] is most suitable for exploring the mysteries of the world, and based on this, they studied, explored, and created countless professions..."

"Such as [Arcane Scholar], [Mind Hunter], [Shield Warrior], [Rapid Thunder Warrior], [Tide Walker]..."

"Countless pioneers gave birth to countless more pioneers, which evolved into the flourishing continent we have today..."

"Naseng Continent!"
