Chapter 284 - Alina: part-3

After her confession and my acceptance, we stayed in limbo. She would train with me, teach me how to use my powers, give me knowledge about her father and the system and tell me about creation itself.

It didn't feel bad. I was calm, collected and logical. I did feel that logic would hinder my ability to love as it made me a bit shy.

Alina didn't mind it. She explained what she did to me when I was alive.

"You were originally supposed to be the quiet and brooding type. You would were to be cynical, logical and aloof.

However you would attract a lot of girls if I had left you like that. So I changed your personality a bit. I changed it to how you acted. That made you likable but also diverted any girls from getting too close to you." (Alina)

"So, I am back to how I am supposed to be?"

"Yes. Honestly, your soul carries a little too many thoughts. I am not saying I don't like you. Now, you are more like a serious child than a cheerful one. I quite like it." (Alina)

Our conversations would go like that. It's pretty embarrassing for me even if I don't show it on my face.

"Love does change people. I can't say I understand what love is."

I blurted that out one time and Alina started a sermon.

"Love is not something you understand. It's a feeling. You feel it and go with it. If you try to define love using logic, it becomes meaningless. I can't say I am surprised that you don't understand love.

You are a pragmatic person. You weigh everything in reason and logic yet you know that sometimes both become meaningless. Give it time. I will change you." (Alina)

I didn't pay it much attention since Alina said I can stay as I am. Besides, I do enjoy her company. Sometimes rowdy, sometimes silent but her company does put my mind at ease.

My time with Alina is not short by any means. Time simply does not exist in limbo. So the moment we fell, time ceased existing.

Besides, God does not care for time. He is timeless.

"Will your father not search for you here?"

"He probably will. But limbo is a chaotic mess. You may think that we are stationary but we are not. We are constantly moving through the infinitely chaotic space which is limbo. Pinpointing our location will be hard even for father.

Unless he asks for help from other creators, he will not be able to find us. That gives me hope. Father is proud to a fault. He can not admit his faults and will not ask for help." (Alina)

"He sounds like a spoiled brat."

I gave my honest evaluation of him and Alina chuckled.

"Maybe you are right. If only mother were alive, it would not have become like this." (Alina)

Her mother? She never mentioned it before.

"Mother passed away when I was young." (Alina)

Wait! Her mother passed away? How? Aren't they immortal? How can an immortal entity pass away?

"Even creators can die. Death would not be the correct term. I should have said deceased. Because when a creator feels like it has been long enough, they can choose.

They can either return to the creation system and start over as a creation in a system or just totally cease to exist.

After giving birth and raising me till I am old enough, mother made a choice. She chose decease over me and father. She told me that I will eventually have to make a similar decision and ceased her existence. That event drove father to the brink. You can say that mother's decease caused father to lose all hope." (Alina)

Her stories are becoming more and more outrageous. Nonetheless it's giving me new information.

If I have to summarize it in my own words, God is nothing more than a broken man who was left behind by his wife. He is a childish, selfish and extremely proud man who can't accept what's around him.

Our training ended and I decided it was time I made a move.

"First, we should gather those who remained sane. Hell is a place which breaks the spirit. Those who remain unbroken will remain in hell. The broken souls are then sent to the forge to become new souls." (Alina)

Basically, a recycling plant. Hell as a system sure is efficient. But what about heaven?

"Does anything like heaven exist?"

"What humans refer to as heaven does exist but it isn't for normal humans. Heaven is a place where father and his immediate creations live. A place where only the privileged are allowed.

You see, to keep the system running, father fed humans some facts. They aren't wrong but not the the truth either. Humans may be allowed in heaven but that will entirely depend on father.

Besides, the whole retribution and resurrection thing is a ruse. Father will simply reset his world and start over again if something goes horribly wrong." (Alina)

She spoke these things as if these are common knowledge. My suspicions were confirmed.

It really is nothing more than a ruse to keep the humans in line.

If we need unbroken souls, I have the perfect candidate.

"I know that you are thinking about Lucifer. Honestly, I wouldn't free him. I don't really know what happened between him and father as I was just a newborn but I don't trust that person." (Alina)

"He is tricky but I think he won't stand in our way. We can at least try to ask for his help."

I get that he is pretty shady but he seems like a good guy. It took some convincing but Alina agreed in the end.

"How will we infiltrate Niflheim though?"

I didn't get the chance to actually survey it. My body would be frozen solid every time I went there. They didn't even let me visit Lucifer. I couldn't see him again after our last time.

"It's actually pretty simple. Niflheim has a river flowing through it. The river connects to heaven as well. The only way you can travel through hell without actually jumping through dimensions is the river. We will jump in the river and go straight to Niflheim." (Alina)

She seems optimistic but I am not confident in my swimming.

"The river is denser than normal water. You will float easily." (Alina)

I didn't expect physics here. But the plan seems easy enough. The limbo is infinite but Alina can navigate through the limbo for some reason.

She explained that her mother left her with a tome which explained the coordinates of the limbo.

Who was her mother? Anyway, I trust her so I followed her.

The river was not too far from our location. Limbo isn't just an infinite space, it's also mysterious. When I fell in limbo, it was pitch black and kinda fluid.

I felt as if I was swallowed by a beast and was inside its stomach. But when I came to my senses, it was a normal house.

The outside of the house was still as chaotic as before but the house separated us from the chaos.

Alina explained that the limbo is nothing more than an empty space. With enough knowledge and power, it can be given shape.

Alina made a house in the limbo and modified it every time to suit our needs. She is more mysterious than anything else I have faced.

Anyway, the river is kinda weird.

The flow changes every time I look at it. It's weird but Alina jumped in. I had to jump after her.

I took a deep breath and jumped. I expected the water to be cold. It was not. It was not cold, nor hot. It was as if the water never existed. Yet, something was flowing and I was floating.

"As a river that extends to many dimensions at once, it has no corporeal existence. It simply flows without being restricted by the laws of those dimensions. As long as we are floating, we are also incorporeal." (Alina)

If I had time and the interest, I would have thoroughly examined these phenomena. As I don't have the time nor the effort at the moment, that will have to wait.

"Should we try and swim towards our destination?"

"No. Just hold my hand and keep floating. Even if this river is connected to other dimensions, it's almost impossible to go somewhere consciously. The river will take you to your destination. All you need is some patience." (Alina)

So, we need go let go of ourselves, surrender to the current and float to our destination. Not too bad, if I say so.

I hold her right hand and keep floating. The current, I can't say if it's uphill or downhill, is pretty slow.

"Really, things have gotten way out of hand. Tell me Alina, when did you actually find me?"

Our ride will probably be long. I do enjoy the silence between but I think I should get some answers.

She mentioned that my soul resonated with her's. When did she find out about me?

"When my mother chose decease and father was trying to stop her, my ability invoked. As God's only daughter, I have a position to uphold. But my ability which is mine alone, came from my soul.

My ability is clairvoyance. It may seem lackluster since any omnipotent being can use it, mine is a bit different.

Future changes according to the actions of the present. But my clairvoyance is absolute. It only shows the accurate outcome. My first vision was of you.

I saw you, Constant. My very first vision was you." (Alina)

She squeezed my hand even tighter probably due to the embarrassment. My name, what did she call me?

"Constant. That's what your name meant when you were alive, didn't it?" (Alina)

"Yes, it did. My parents had a huge argument about my name but they settled on that. Both had different names with the same meaning so let's go with the meaning."

I heard that from my grandma. My life sure was interesting and ordinary at the same time.

"I saw you, standing above my father's chest. I was confused but then I saw myself next to you. I don't know what to make of it but I sure was confused. My mother postponed her decease to actually look after me until I was stable enough." (Alina)

Again her mother? I have feeling she chose decease for a different reason. My gut tells me that she is mot deceased. She may have chosen to give up on her then life and restart.

"I honestly have that idea as well. Mother was not so feeble as to choose decease. Maybe she lives on, somewhere in the vast system. I do not wish to pry as she never left me with any clues.

I told my mother what I saw and she consulted it with Lucifer. I was old enough to actually remember him being thrown in Niflheim but I never interacted with him much.

Father only knows that a human will cause his demise. Who and how, he has no idea. Mother never told him that I would also be against him during his demise. Which is why, he treats me with caution." (Alina)

"You really are reading my mind. I don't actually mind my thoughts being read but aren't they weird?"

My thoughts are almost always intrusive. Things that would normally be unacceptable and problematic are always on my mind.

"They are funny once you get used to it. It shows that your mind works in ways that you can't control." (Alina)

"Having a complete control on your thoughts and emotions are pretty tough. It takes years of practice and meditation to even reach closer to the concept.

Anyway, to answer your question, my vision was the first time I saw you. Mother told me to be careful but I snuck in the database to search for you.

It was a shock. Your soul itself was not created yet. You were supposed to be one of the first few prototypes for new souls.

You can read all of that later in the library but as you did not exist back then, I had to wait. But visions of you and your daily life made me impatient.

The love you felt and showed for her is genuine. She also loves you genuinely. Though she inadvertently plays the hard to get, you are a passionate person. You don't give up easily.

I just made one slight change. Using a strong mind suggestion, I enabled your theatrical side. You would make a spectacular entrance and proclaim your love for her. That's about it. The rest is as you know it." (Alina)

The way she explained those things so calmly, I am impressed. Our floating ride will continue for a while so let's enjoy the silence. The surroundings are chaotic but the river itself is pretty gentle. Alina is illuminating the area using her divine light so I will see what I can do for Lucifer once we get there.
