Chapter 29 - Chapter 28: Eliminating Future Threats

"Trying to escape? It's not that easy!"

Lin You had been keeping an eye on Murong Tian's movements and naturally couldn't let him escape so easily. He immediately ordered the plants to give chase.

"Quick! Stop him!"

Faced with the rushing vines, Murong Tian was startled and hurriedly gathered the remaining angels to block the plants' path while he turned to flee.

"Boss Murong, wait for me!"

The young man with him didn't expect Murong Tian to suddenly run away, and in a panic, tried to follow.

But it was precisely this negligence that the plants in front of him seized, suddenly thrusting a vine forward with a "puff" sound that pierced through his chest, freezing him in place.

Without the support of their lord, the beast hordes let out a chorus of howls, and fell lifeless one by one.

In a blink, only Murong Tian and his dozen angels remained, unable to withstand the plants' fierce attack, and were quickly taken down. The plants then rapidly pursued.

Murong Tian, in his desperate escape, hadn't yet realized when several vines suddenly shot out ahead, blocking his path.

"I told you, you can't escape."

Lin You, expression icy cold, appeared slowly with the remaining plants before him.

Thump!

Murong Tian's legs went weak, and he fell to the ground, face ashen.

When he saw the cold murderous intent in Lin You's eyes, his body trembled violently, and he was filled with extreme terror and regret.

He had no one to blame but himself for being so obstinate, provoking such a plague god.

A whole four Tier Four lords!

Yet they hadn't even touched a finger of the enemy, and his entire army was wiped out, not a single one left, while he himself was in such a sorry state.

Was this really a strength that a Tier Four lord could possess?

Without daring to think further, he turned to flee with a speed that was almost on par with his own species.

Yes!

Though he had no species, he himself had reached Tier Four. As long as he escaped back to his territory and recruited new species, he could rise again!

And even seek revenge when the opportunity arose!

"Lingxi!"

Unfortunately for him, Lin You wasn't going to give him that chance and immediately ordered Lingxi beside him.

Murong Tian turned back only to see Lingxi waving her magic staff in the air, pointing with her finger.

The next second, he felt his feet suddenly tightened, wrapped by thorns that grew from the ground.

"What!?"

Murong Tian's face changed drastically, unable to halt his body, he toppled to the ground, dazed.

Immediately, a frenzy of vines surged forth, coiling rapidly around his body like small snakes.

"No!!"

Murong Tian's eyes widened in panic, struggling desperately to break free, but found the vines only tightened, embedding deep into his flesh, twisting his face in pain.

"Puff!"

Finally, the sound of piercing flesh echoed, and Murong Tian's struggles froze.

His eyes widened, staring at the vine protruding from his chest, a gargling sound escaped his throat, but he uttered no words.

In the end, everything went black, and he collapsed to the ground.

[Successfully killed a Tier Four lord, gained 506 Magic Energy, 150 units of wood, 290 units of stone, Tier Four Territory Essence x1, Building Plan x1.]

After dealing with Murong Tian, Lin You's expression unchanged, maintained his icy demeanor.

However, internally, he felt a slight discomfort; there was a difference between people and demons after all.

Of course, he wouldn't feel any pity for Murong Tian and his followers, as they all aimed to take his life, so naturally, he couldn't show mercy.

After standing in place for a while, regaining his composure, he began to inventory his gains this time.

Counting what was gained from slaying those three henchmen earlier.

In total, more than 800 points of Magic Energy, 300 units of wood, 500 units of stone, four Tier Four Territory Essences, and one Building Plan were obtained.

Truly a bunch of paupers, adding all four together only amounts to this, probably spending nearly everything during the beast tide.

And only one Territory Essence exploded from each, theoretically, they should have had more than one.

It seems that apart from resources and plans, nothing else explodes.

But it doesn't matter, he only wanted the resources, and getting a plan was an unexpected bonus.

This was his first time seeing a building plan type artifact, which made him a bit curious.

He immediately looked at the item information.

[Building Plan: Quarry]

[Building Level: Tier One (Upgradeable)]

[Building Introduction: Increases the efficiency of stone collection in the territory.]

[Collection Efficiency: 110%]

[Construction Requirements: 25 wood, 25 stone, 50 Magic Energy]

It turned out to be a building that increases stone collection efficiency, which Lin You hadn't expected.

Meaning, aside from the initial three basic buildings, lords can increase functional buildings in their territory through building plans.

This was certainly good news.

He now only lacked stone to upgrade to a Tier Five territory.

With this quarry plan, his efficiency in collecting stones would significantly improve, and with the newly acquired 500 stones, upgrading to a Tier Five territory wouldn't take long.

With that thought, Lin You assigned the plants to handle the corpses outside, while he returned to the territory to construct the quarry.

After a flash of light, a tunnel leading into the mountain for stone collection was built onto the territory side facing the mountain body.

With the quarry matter resolved, Lin You moved to the Tower of Species to check on the progress of research on species.

After a day's research, the upgrade for the Plant Spirits species was finally completed, granting him an additional Tier Four recruitable species.

Eagerly he chose to recruit, and soon, a light orb appeared before him, resembling the Plant Spirits but slightly larger in size.

[Name: Grass and Wood Spirits (Rare)]

[Race: Plant]

[Level: Tier Four (0/100)]

[Power: 50]

[Constitution: 50]

[Agility: 66]

[Spirit: 87]

[Skills: Nature Control (Mid-level), Plant Protection (Surrounded by Power of Nature, reducing damage when attacked.)]

[Introduction: One of the species closest to nature among mid-level creatures, able to wield various Natural Magic.]

Upgraded to Tier Four, the Plant Spirits was renamed Grass and Wood Spirits.

And true to its Rare Species title, the new skills it learned were excellent, capable of reducing damage from attacks.

Even the original Nature Control skill was upgraded to mid-level.

Lin You had it try an attack, finding it could manipulate surrounding branches and leaves like Lingxi, directly turning them into weapons for attack, proving its formidable strength.

However, considering the impending upgrade to Tier Five, Lin You refrained from using mutation on it, saving his Magic Energy for now.

He then opened another recruitable Tier Three species of his, the Poison Vine Flower, to start researching its upgraded species, the Highly Poisonous Demoness.

His Highly Poisonous Demoness was mutated from the Cannibal Flower King, making direct recruitment impossible, which was inconvenient, so it became his second choice for research.

As for the Flower Spirit lineage of species, there's really no need to mention.

They were all products of mutation.

Though research was possible, it had to start from Tier One.

Researching to Tier Four would take a full four days and was not currently a priority.

Lin You calculated a bit.

He currently possessed species of Flower Spirit, Thorny Vine, Tree Spirit, Mushroom, Cannibal Flower, Ancient Tree of Knowledge, and Plant Spirits.

Researching them all would probably take quite some time, truly a massive undertaking.

Probably looking across the entire region, there wouldn't be many with as many species as he had.

Luckily, the Ancient Tree of Knowledge couldn't be upgraded, sparing the need for research...

"Right, the Ancient Tree of Knowledge."

Suddenly, Lin You remembered something.

The Ancient Tree of Knowledge was supposed to provide experience to other species.

By the looks of things, some plant's experience should be about maxed out, right?

Indeed.

Just as the thought crossed his mind, two Fission Mushrooms sunbathing within the territory suddenly began to emit beams of light.

[Congratulations, Fission Mushroom's experience has reached the maximum, successfully advancing to Tier Five!]
