Chapter 22 - Chapter 21: A Sleepless Night

"Did you guys hear? Today, while Murong Tian was out clearing a Demon gathering site, he got thrashed by an unknown Lord. It seems even he almost got killed."

"What? This happened? Is it true?"

"Of course, it's true. Someone saw it with their own eyes. If you don't believe me, ask around, the news has already spread."

"I can testify! I happened to bump into Murong Tian returning at noon today, and he looked so battered that the word 'miserable' was practically written on his face."

"Whoa! Is there such juicy gossip? Wasn't it said that Murong Tian was already Tier Four? Who's strong enough to take him down? A Demon Type?"

"It's said to be... Plant Type?"

"Plant Type? How is that possible! Can Plant Type take on Angel Type??"

...

The news of Murong Tian's disastrous defeat spread like a hurricane, causing a massive sensation throughout the area.

Everyone was talking about it.

Even those who rarely mingled on the channels were showing up to inquire about the specifics, eager to know who was so formidable that they could make the Angel Type, supposedly the strongest species, suffer a setback.

Of course, many also viewed it with schadenfreude.

After all, Murong Tian had often used his Angel Legion to suppress other Lords, even threatening them to hand over Magic Energy, leaving them outraged but silent.

Now that someone finally avenged them, they couldn't help but clap in delight.

Some even went as far as to send mocking messages.

Murong Tian, aren't you arrogant?

Why so silent now?

Have you been scared into submission?

See if you dare to be so arrogant again!

In short, there were all kinds of reactions to this shocking news, but the most talked-about topic was the identity of that mysterious Plant Type person.

Everyone was speculating about who he might be and how he ended up clashing with Murong Tian.

Though Murong Tian's character wasn't great, his strength was undeniable.

To defeat him, and so thoroughly, one must be terrifyingly powerful.

If they could befriend such a strong person, it would be hugely beneficial to them.

Unfortunately.

The person who spread this news wasn't close enough to see what the expert looked like, let alone find them.

This outcome left many disappointed.

...

At the edge of the wasteland.

In a forest.

The two people who had previously passed by Lin You's territory stood there, looking at the messages constantly flashing on the area channel, feeling suspicious and uncertain.

"Brother, do you think the person who defeated Murong Tian might be the one we encountered this morning?"

The young man swallowed hard, his lips a bit dry.

Remembering the Plant Type territory they passed in the morning, wasn't it very close to where it all happened?

Could it be that this was done by that guy?

"It's possible." The man's expression was incredibly serious, "Not to mention how close it is, just the scale of that territory didn't look like something Tier Three could have."

"Brother, do you mean... Tier Four?"

The young man was suddenly taken aback.

"It must be, only a Tier Four territory would have such an impressive scale. This also explains why he was so calm then, because he simply doesn't worry about the Beast Tide!"

Boom!

The young man's mind shook, his eyes widened suddenly.

If this is true, hadn't he almost offended a Tier Four big shot before?

Recalling his previous rashness, a chill ran down his spine, filling him with fear.

Good thing.

Good thing he didn't impulsively provoke them, otherwise he wouldn't even know how he died!

"What should we do? Should we spread this news?" The young man asked softly.

The man shook his head, "Better not, to avoid unnecessary trouble. Someone like that is not someone we can mess with."

"You're right. Let's finish checking the Beast Tide and head back quickly. There's only one day left of the safety period." The young man, still worried, hastily said.

"Yeah, let's go."

With that said, the two no longer discussed the matter and continued towards the wall...

Meanwhile.

In another part of the forest.

Lin You, the main person involved, also saw the discussions on the area channel and was a bit taken aback.

He hadn't expected that there was a third party during his fight with Murong Tian and that they had spread the story.

Who knows what Murong Tian's expression is like now.

He's probably dying to rip him apart, right?

Then he sneered, so what if Murong Tian hates him?

After all, the enmity between them was set, and he didn't plan to let Murong Tian off.

He certainly wanted to eliminate him completely at once.

But the problem was, he didn't know the location of Murong Tian's territory right now.

Besides, with the Beast Tide approaching, it would be unwise to expend troops and resources on attacking other territories. Only after enduring the Beast Tide could he consider this.

Thinking of this, Lin You ignored those discussions and led his Plant Legion deeper into the forest.

While searching for Demon gathering sites, he also eliminated Demons along the way, honing his combat skills through battle.

In harsh environments, one truly grows quickly.

In just a few days, Lin You's combat skills had already far surpassed before, becoming much more proficient. Coupled with his Tier Four's powerful body and reflexes, he could just barely hold his ground against Tier Four Demons.

Not that he wanted to train himself into an unparalleled master.

But basic survival skills are essential.

Otherwise, if he encountered urgent situations without his species around, wouldn't he be waiting to die?

Fortunately, his comprehension was decent, and his progress speed was much faster than anticipated.

And so.

The whole afternoon, Lin You spent in the forest.

When hungry, he ate dried meat he carried with him.

When tired, he sat down to rest, having the Plants keep watch.

The disappointment was that, along the way, he didn't encounter any Demon gathering sites, but he did encounter quite a few scattered Tier Three Demons, providing him with several hundred Magic Energy.

When evening fell, he returned along the same route to his territory, using the Magic Energy he acquired to finally fill the ranks with forty species.

Then early the next morning, he set out again.

Continued to scour the forest to earn more Magic Energy.

Only when the sun set on the last day.

Did Lin You, dragging his tired body, return to his territory.

And the Magic Energy he collected exceeded a thousand, which should be enough to withstand the upcoming Beast Tide.

"There's one more night left..."

Lin You sat by the campfire, staring vacantly at the flickering flames.

Tomorrow was the end of the safety period.

Unknowingly, he realized he's been in this world for seven days, feeling like a lifetime had passed.

He glanced at the area channel, which was almost entirely discussing the Beast Tide tomorrow.

There was anticipation, anxiety, and unease.

Those most worried were the ones closest to the forest and those weaker in strength, afraid they wouldn't survive this wave of the Beast Tide.

Many self-important Lords lowered themselves, forming alliances for survival, and no one dared leave their territory for fear of not making it back before the Beast Tide engulfed them.

Tonight, for them, was destined to be a sleepless night.
