It's been pleasant living in this residence, there weren't any problems at all aside from that unique event with Ezekiel. I'm also positive that It will stay quiet for a bit more since in the Novel that event occurred a decade before the time the novel takes place.
I mean, I would ideally try to avoid them, but seeing as I'm the pampered baby of their opposition... There is no way. There is also so much preparation that I wish to take before that time comes. It would be at my disadvantage to encounter the main cast with my only supporter being the main villain.
'sigh'
Anyways, I'm being accompanied by the Maid as always and we were just done with our literacy lesson for today.
"That is all for today Master Aless! There is also nothing else that requires your attendance today. Is there anything you would like to do?~"
Perfect! This is the opportunity to branch off a little hehe----
"Sthparring mathsch"
Yes, you heard my lisp correctly. There is a sparring room that the guards use to train with each other that is located in a building near the villa. This is my chance to have a grasp at what this world has as a standard for close combatants. I mean sure, magic can resurrect the living, summon creatures, fire magic arrows, camouflage your body, engulf people into flames, and slice people in half with just air. However, physical strength has the greatest asset in my opinion that topples anything magic can do. Make you look ripped. Like come on! Nothing compares to sending your opponent flying and every inch of your body flexes a defined muscle making you look like a Greek statue.
I mean that's partly the reason I practiced sculpting my entire short life. Your body is capable of creating an unimaginable texture that is able to convey so much emotion and meaning through simple movements. I was actually saddened when Hellenistic sculpting began to lose its appeal, I would have loved to see them around during my lifetime.
Alright, you get the idea. I will most likely continue that hobby of mine here if they have any marble available, fingers crossed.
"The Sparring room? Young Master I'm not sure if that would be appropriate for you... much less a sparring match.", said the Maid while shifting her head to the side and gave a pondering look to my statement. I'm sure It's a little odd, but so what?
She noticed my slight disappointed reaction, which really was me losing interest in her by looking away. As if she was trying to avoid making me cry she hurriedly responded,
"Alright, I'll accompany you to the sparring room, but I must warn Young Master Aless that is not a nice place for someone as yourself to be present in."
'Alright lady, just show me to the place', which translates to me nodding my head.
With that, we began heading to the building that was located south of the villa with a reluctant maid. It was some distance away, but wouldn't describe it to be far. The path was highlighted by a lighter shade of dirt that was swallowed by a wall of trees on both sides. The path escaped from the main gate that was located south, where the garden was located. I noticed that the walk was leading down, meaning the villa must be placed on top of a hill.
Walking, I looked at the flora that was covering the lower part of the trees in a planned pattern. It was really alluring, there were flowers that I hadn't seen in my world, but they couldn't avoid sharing similarities. There was a wide variety of colors, but they seemed mostly to be composed of different shades of blue. These specimens were also used to decorate the garden, I think I'll take a closer to the garden next time, I didn't appreciate it as I should have.
The trees however were mostly captivating, they resembled Sakura trees, although I'm not an expert they are definitely pink. Noticing my wandering gaze the Maid began speaking,
"This is where Lady Ariel and I used to take walks in and bring you along in a stroller. We would have discussions about the problems Master Angelo was facing and what was troubling her at the time."
'Then, this maid was friends with my biological parents huh, so maybe there is some history I should know about her'
As I was spacing out into my thoughts, she brought me back to the conversation,
"But don't worry, you were the main topic most of the time~ hehe."
Right.
"She was a wonderful woman, and I promised her that I would do everything possible for you to succeed. After all, that is my duty for you Young Master.~"
'I guess the Mai--- *ahem* Alina, isn't so bad after all', she seems to be deeply rooted in my, not so mine, family. We continued walking through the path and took a distinct right turn into an area with less trees.
Soon, in the distance a longhouse started to peek out and was adorned by dark textured wood. The building gave some real Viking vibes and was really not what i was expecting, yet the variety of styles really does make this interesting. I had forgotten the author was a freak for different types of architecture, kind of weird.
As we approached, a door became visible and the guard was standing to the right of it, almost as if waiting for us.
"I've been waiting for your arrival, the Black Eyes informed us you were heading this way. ",
The guard was kitted with what seemed to be the bare minimum for armor, with a chest piece, arm braces, and knee guards. The material looked to be made out of layered steel, which was as if medieval armor in my world was more technologically advanced.
His looks screamed normal with an average face, black hair, and black eyes with nothing else to note about him. Also, a secret force? Do they have people hidden keeping an eye on me? That's great to know before I did anything that could expose me...
"Yes, reliable as always. Master Aless wished to see the soldiers have a sparring match."
"Yes, of course. We will organize one right away.", and with a quick closed fist salute to the chest he lead us inside. I immediately noticed that it was more of a gym than anything intended for the military. There were benches on the right side and the left was filled with a rather large mat. The inside did reflect the appearance from the outside, it was huge.
Towards the end of the building there were doors on both ends that I'm presuming to lead to the rest of the building. This must be like a Nissen hut from the military, but in a more medieval age.
There were knights (I'm guessing) placed in formation along the mat exercising together by a leading knight. They were all dressed in very casual clothes resembling shorts and a t-shirt.
The soldier who led us inside made his way to the knight leading the exercise and whispered something to his ear, which made him have a slight smile. He turned to face the other knights,
"ALRIGHT EVERYONE PAY ATTENTION! We are graced today by our young master and he wishes to see a sparring match! Joseph! Alya! To the center! Everyone else CLEAR!"
Following orders, only the two named individuals remained and everyone else moved to sit in the benches. The girl was branded with red hair, which was such an exotic hair color, and well the guy had blue hair.
Two other soldiers each arrived with wooden long swords and gave them to both performers. The soldier from earlier and the knight I'm now noticing is the foot soldier from the first day who came closer to the place we were standing.
"Good afternoon Miss Alina, I'm honored to see Master Aless come into our humble abode."
"Good *Evening* Captain Darg. Yes, although most regrettable."
"Hah, we will try our best to satisfy his expectations."
'I feel bad for this guy'
"Please, take a seat in the front. We will start it shortly."
Heading to our seats the captain headed a bit forward of front seats, and with a loud tone said some short words to start the match.
"KNIGHTS! We will begin sparring according to rule set A! BEGIN!"
As soon as the last letter was said, they rushed to each other with speed I've never seen or considered a human possible to do.
Red hair seemed to have reached the proper distance and changed her footing, causing a shift on her balance to adjust her sword. Blue Hair seemed discouraged to keep moving forwards, so in an attempt to gain a defensive position he abruptly stopped himself. Red hair, seemed to see this coming so she positioned her long sword in between her chest for a piercing attack. Blue hair made a side step to the side that temporarily made him lose balance.
They seem very uniform in their moves, I've never seen any martial arts on earth that compared to what I'm currently seeing. Although, this could be from the strength or magical reason. However, I haven't noticed either of them use magic.
They kept exchanging blows and it seemed that blue hair was using more evasive maneuvers, while Red hair kept fishing for finishing blows. Although I respect her perseverance, Blue hair's patience to evade her blows was a more appealing strategy for me. Yet, one blow from Red hair and I have a feeling that Blue hair will say good night for today. Blue Hair's strat may be a deliberate decision, I'm assuming he is aware of the strength difference and he is trying to gain a leverage with his mobility.
"Mister Joseph seems to be cornered quite a bit, Isn't he?"
"Quite the contrary Miss, Joseph is aware he is at a disadvantage in this long sword fight. He is attempting to find a way to create openings."
"I see, well Miss Alya does seem to deliver Strong blows each time they clash weapons...~"
Red hair's sword is whistling from each time she brings it down to meet her opponents weapon. Its an incredible display of ability and strength. Blue hair's fast mobility is also so alluring, although he seems to be restraining a bit for extra defense, the potential that this fighting style is alluring.
"I wonder who will win..."
