But things turned out unexpectedly.
William Whewell actually managed to poach McCarthy for Cambridge, and even put him in charge of economics courses for all four Divinity Schools—this was, without a doubt, a resounding slap in the face.
Who knows, maybe Purim would get pissed off enough to grab an axe and hunt down William Whewell for an offline PK match?
Meanwhile, elsewhere.
After introducing McCarthy, William Whewell began introducing the other professors:
"Zarul Murray... Chief Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences..."
"Delio Atayaga... Lecturer in Art History....."
"Stasia Edkins... Professor of Ancient Greek and Roman Literature..."
"Gandalf... Professor of Physical Defense..."
Following McCarthy, William Whewell went on to grandly introduce another seven or eight professors, all of whom seemed to be pretty big names as well.
But these people were mostly strangers to Xu Yun.
