As her daughter's gaze and attention shifted their focus from Zeph onto her, Roxy's thoughts couldn't help but to flash back to peach pie, coffee, and the difficult conversation she and Zeph had over them just minutes ago.
"So are you going to tell me about what happens next, or not? I have already figured out that the miracle-like first-aid she received that is probably the reason why we are having this conversation instead of a much sadder one was performed by your hands."
Pausing mid-bite, Zeph looked up from the perfectly delicious peach pie he tried to lose himself in for a minute to look at the woman whom he had to at least acknowledge as having a decent chance of becoming his mother-in-law. It was almost written in the clouds that she would be calling Justin as Husband by year's end.
Zeph could only guess that little detail had something to do with how unbothered Justin was that Jade was or had caught feelings for Zeph, and not just Laxana.
