Chapter 640 - Supposed to be

Natasha walked upstairs to her bedroom. She entered and carried her suitcase that was placed on the bed. She was about to walk out with it when she thought to check it first.

She placed it back on the beck and opened it up. She inspected her suitcase. Her eyes were narrowed as she looked at every blouse, jeans and other things.

She would not lie, had she not heard that Dom helped Joy pack her things, she would not have checked her suitcase. Well, to her relief, everything seemed intact and nicely folded.

She zipped up her suitcase and groaned, It seemed that frowning had awakened her headache once more.

Joy giggled and ran upstairs to her bedroom. Her daddy was loading their bags into the boot of his car and she was very excited.

She pulled out her full suitcase from her wardrobe and began to struggle to life it up. She groaned, it was heavier than she thought. It was so heavy that she had to resort to dragging it along the ground.

Natasha walked out of her bedroom when she saw Joy dragging her suitcase. She laughed, it was a hilarious sight.

"My darling, your suitcase cannot be that heavy," she said.

"Oh it is mommy, it is very heavy," Joy said.

"Let me help you," Natasha walked to her and picked up her suitcase with her own in her left hand.

"No, mommy, it is too heavy, and you do not feel well," Joy frowned.

"Oh hush my darling, I am perfectly alright," Natasha giggled. Joy's suitcase was not that heavy. It seemed to be the same weight as her own suitcase, but thinking about it more deeply, that was truly worrying. Just what did she pack in her suitcase.

"My darling, what did you pack in your suitcase?" she asked as they walked down the stairs.

"Nothing much mommy, just some shirts and shorts and jeans and flipflops," Joy listed.

Natasha laughed, it seemed to be a bad move because as soon as she laughed, her head began to hurt and her eyes turned. She continued walking down the stairs, she was almost at the end.

Before she knew it, she lost balance and almost fell. Luckily, Dom had just walked back into the house to check on how things were going.

"Mommy!" Joy called in fear.

Dom moved quickly, he rushed to the stairs and managed to catch Natasha before she fell.

"Natasha, Natasha, are you alright?" Dom asked in a panic.

"Mommy! Mommy, are you okay?" Joy rushed down the stairs. She dashed past the suitcases that her mother had dropped as she was about to fall.

Natasha groaned, she opened her eyes only to see Dom's worries face.

"Natasha, are you alright?" he carried her.

"Mommy," Joy called with tears in her eyes.

"I am fine, I am fine... I just got a bit lightheaded back there," she said.

"Are you sure Natasha?" Dom asked.

"I am sure, put me down," she replied.

Dom reluctantly did as she asked. Joy hugged her tightly, she was on the verge of tears.

"Don't cry my baby, I am alright, thankfully your daddy caught me before I fell," she smiled.

"Are you sure you are okay mommy? You almost fell down the stairs and that is dangerous, very, very dangerous," Joy sniffed.

"I know my darling, I am doing much better now, do not mind me. I just need to sit down for a bit, alright?" Natasha asked and Joy nodded.

Natasha walked to the living room to catch her breath. Joy followed behind her.

Dom sighed, to think that if he had not walked back in, the story would have been different and they would have been rushing Natasha to the hospital.

Dom picked up the suitcases and put them in the car. He walked into the living room.

"Do you feel better now?" he asked.

"I do... I just need to drink some water," she said.

"I will be right back." He dashed into the kitchen, poured a glass of water and rushed back into the living room.

"Thank you," Natasha said. She drank the water and sighed. Today had just been a really annoying day for her. She definitely did not feel like herself today and it was terribly irritating.

"Mommy, are you sure you are feeling better? Maybe we should just stay home?" Joy asked.

Dom nodded, he agreed with Joy, however, he knew better than to say that in front of Natasha.

"No, my darling, I am fine, we said that we would go today, so we are going today. It won't be such a long drive if we skip the traffic and I am sure that getting to see your grandparents and grandfather would make me feel a hundred times better," Natasha smiled.

"Are you sure mommy?" Joy asked worried.

"Very sure my darling, I will feel much better once we are where we are supposed to be," she smiled.

Joy glanced at her father, they exchanged knowing glances.

"Hey, what are you two talking about with those looks you are giving each other?" Natasha laughed. They were not smooth at all.

"Well, you know we are just discussing what you said and I conclude that... we should listen to what your mommy says princess," Dom said. He knew that if he refused, Natasha would get upset.

"Okay, if mommy says she will feel better when we go, then we should go," Joy said.

Natasha observed the two of them. They both had the same worried expression on their faces. It was so cute, she could truly see that Joy was Dom's daughter. Whenever they were worried, there was this way the corner of their lips tugged.

"I agree, because your mommy is a super mommy, and also, if I say no, I will be in serious trouble," Dom said.

"Hey!" Natasha exclaimed. "That's not true.".

"It is true, Natasha, you cannot deny it. You call the shots and we simply follow," Dom chuckled.

Joy giggled, she nodded her head. Natasha was quick to notice such a little movement.

"Hey, what are you nodding for my darling?" she asked.

"I am nodding because Daddy is right, you always make the rules Mommy," Joy giggled.

Natasha was surprised, she did not know what made Joy think like that.

"That's not true, your daddy makes some rules as well," Natasha said.

In the corner of her eye she saw Dom shake his head. She turned and frowned at him. He laughed sheepishly.

"Okay Mommy, whatever you say," Joy said. She stood up. "I'm going to wait in the car," she rushed out and giggled.

Natasha was surprised, she wondered what was going on in that little head of hers.

"I wonder what is putting those ideas in her little head?" Natasha turned to Dom.

"I also wonder," he shrugged.

Natasha scoffed at him, "Why am I saying I wonder when the person responsible is right here?".

"Hey, what did I do now?".

"Your comments and tone are what makes her think that I make all the rules and you simply follow anything I say," she said.

"Hey, I never said it like that, besides, she is merely stating the truth, you call the shots, you make the rules and we all follow Madam General," Dom pretended to salute.

Natasha picked up one of the throw pillows and threw it straight at his head. Although she felt terrible, her aim was still good.

"Ouch, what was that for?" he frowned when it hit his head.

"For enlisting me in the U.S. army without my permission," she sneered. She stood up and picked up the half empty glass of water.

"Don't worry about that, I will take care of it, you just go and sit in the car. We don't want to risk you falling again, please?" he pleaded.

Natasha frowned, she was about to refute, but she had to admit that his words were true. She still was not feeling as fine as she would want to.

"Alright fine, the snacks I packed are on the kitchen counter, bring them with you," she said.

"I will," he replied.

"And don't forget to lock the front door.".

"I don't need to lock the front door, Lulu is going to come home later, she will lock the door and make sure to give the keys to one of the maids," Dom said.

"Alright then," she took her leave.

Dom picked up the half empty glass on the coffee table. He walked into the kitchen, poured the water away, and washed the glass and some other dishes that were in the sink.

He dried his hands and carried the bag on the kitchen counter. He switched off the lights in the kitchen before walking out of the house and closing the door behind him. He smiled as he approached his car, he could not wait to go back home for an entire week.
