"Before we came, I already talked to Maldi on the phone. Their operations in Zhong Hai were very secretive, not discovered by the Central Guards Brigade. Even if someone wanted to act, they would target Maldi and Joyce; Cowell isn't that attractive."
"That's the part I can't figure out." Osley pondered:
"And I think our trip to the island might not yield anything. After all, they were killed before they even set foot on the island. It's unlikely there are many clues left here."
"Could it be that secretly, someone wants to compete with us, so they pulled this stunt?"
"Compete? Compete for what?" Osley looked at Helk and asked.
"Maldi and Joyce are on another mission. I suspect their covert adversary wants to weaken our power and warn us to back off through such means."
"That's possible." Osley said:
"If that's the case, the secret mission they're executing becomes quite intriguing."
