[Words from OG Author!]
First and foremost, a massive, massive, massive thank you to all the readers who have accompanied me on this journey!
Thank you, everyone! (Bow, bow, bow!)
After many ups and downs, I've finally finished this book. Actually, The Unrivaled Tang Sect was the first novel I ever read, so even after all this time, I still remember many of the plot points. Of course, the content after Qiankun Asking Love Valley is a bit blurry… emmm.
It was also while reading the novel that I felt there were many regrets, such as Electrolux's sacrifice or the sacrifice of the Three-Eyed Golden Lion. So when I decided to start writing myself, I chose to begin from there, which can be considered fulfilling my original dream.
Everyone can probably tell that when I designed the protagonist, I referenced the image of the Monkey King. I originally planned to write a Monkey King Spirit, but later I felt that the Monkey King was too strong, and it would be easy to run out of things to write.
Later on, I still wrote a Rod Spirit. Actually, I didn't read much of the third part at first, so I didn't think of the Coiling Dragon Staff. It wasn't until I later searched for rod-type Spirits that I realized how powerful the Coiling Dragon Staff in the third part was.
With its righteousness, unyielding spirit, and even a rod technique that challenges Heaven and breaks rules, I felt that when the original author wrote the Coiling Dragon Staff Spirit, he might have drawn inspiration from the Monkey King to some extent. It perfectly aligned with my ideas, so I wrote it that way.
Since it was based on the Monkey King, the initial Spirit Ability designs were a bit abstract. For example, the first Spirit Ability, Wind Control, would later transform into a Spirit Ability similar to the Monkey King's somersault cloud after the Dragon Spirit Awakening.
The right arm being "as agile as a finger" refers to the scene where the Monkey King throws his weapon, transforming it into several Golden Cudgels to fight enemies.
The skull Spirit Ability, Insight, corresponds to the Fiery Golden Eyes, while Rejection corresponds to the Bronze Head and Iron Brain.
However, I later realized I made a fatal mistake: the reader's perspective is different from the author's. This is also a common mistake for new writers. I knew I was using the Monkey King as a prototype and that it would later evolve into a somersault cloud, but to readers, a Coiling Dragon Staff with agility-focused Spirit Abilities was simply too abstract.
Because of this, I revised many Spirit Abilities again and again, and gradually, they lost the original appearance of the Monkey King.
It was only after truly starting to write that I discovered many of my shortcomings, such as not being very good at writing large-scale scenes like wars, and having poor control over scenes and perspectives when too many characters appeared at once. I will definitely learn more from outstanding authors in these areas.
I feel that I tend to be a "reasonability-oriented" writer, meaning I try to make the plot logically sound. However, after reading some readers' comments, I realized that certain parts were still handled a bit too casually. For this, I sincerely apologize for bringing everyone an uncomfortable reading experience. (Bow, bow, bow!)
Thank you for your support. The results of this book have actually exceeded my expectations. Because of the confidence everyone has given me, I will continue writing in the future. The next work will also be a fanfiction of The Unrivaled Tang Sect. After all, I've only just begun writing, and I still want to write about what I'm most familiar with.
I will do my best to correct the mistakes made in this book. If there are any parts that feel uncomfortable to read, please feel free to point them out. Everyone should have noticed that I've never deleted comments, whether they were criticism or suggestions. These are all valuable experiences for my growth as a writer.
As for the next book, I plan to write something a bit different from this one. The protagonist will be a true genius, with a different identity and personality from Wang Nan. Of course, I will also do my best to tell everyone another wonderful story.
There will still be some similarities, such as the protagonist having his own opportunities, rather than relying on—
If all goes well, the new book will be released soon. If everyone can come and read it, and finds it acceptable, I sincerely hope you'll continue to support me.
Finally, I know that new writers inevitably have many shortcomings, and I still have many areas where I need to improve. I am deeply grateful for everyone's continued understanding and support. Thank you all once again.
Thank you, everyone! (Bow, bow, bow!)
Last but not least, I wish all my readers good health and all the best!
