Chapter 8 - Starting to cultivate

A cold breeze made me wake up. When I opened my eyes and looked at my surroundings, I realized that it hadn't been a dream, but reality after all.

I was quite calm and relaxed as I straightened my back and took my clothes. They were still a bit wet, but I didn't care and put them on.

While doing these tasks, I felt that my wounds were still in their healing process. The bones, which had been broken, wouldn't just regenerate like I was used to. A mortal body was by far weaker than in my former state.

To return to my healthy condition, I recalled some of the breathing techniques I started off with.

Breathing techniques were the most important thing for cultivating. Even if one had supreme talent, without such a technique it was useless. They were used to draw the Qi, that gathers in and around every living and non living object, out of one's surroundings and infuse it into oneself by breathing, cleansing and then slowly turning it into a form of energy one can save and use anytime, anywhere one wants.

Breathing techniques were not only a help for the cultivation of an individual, but also for other things like healing. That was exactly my sought-after effect, since I was injured pretty badly.

I went through the memories of this body and began to uncover some of the secrets I'd not known yet. I discovered that outside this universe were many more such spaces, created by higher ranked people, "Gods".

They actually weren't real gods, but still strong enough to be seen as them. After all the mortals that lived on these planets were very weak.

Besides the real gods were even higher beings, so called "Primordials". They wanted to be known as that, because they were more powerful.

I was one of the lower ranked gods and also very weak in the eyes of the Primordials.

In this multiverse however, everyone believed that these beings were absolute. But I always had a question. Where does life come from? A simple, but impossible question to answer.

I thought that there was still a higher plain I haven't heard of yet. But that was only my speculation and needed to become stronger to find out.

That was another reason for me to come to my former glory and revenge those ungrateful bastards. I hoped, I could reach my peak faster this time, what was likely, since I had all the knowledge I had learned over the time I've lived.

I promptly pulled myself out of my day dreaming state, as I remembered my initial goal of finding a suitable breathing technique to begin with.

I'd stay away from the stronger ones for now. If I didn't, I would gather too much Qi and explode. On this planet though, even the low level techniques were good for this world.

The density of Qi in my homeland was hundreds of times bigger and the bodies of the mortals many times stronger and more endurable. That's why the breathing techniques were on a higher level.

I searched for the second weakest I found and played the rhythm, in which I had to draw in the Qi, inside my head. The rhythm was very simple, but effective.

I sat down into a meditative position. I began breathing, slowly inhaling to suck all energy into myself, and exhaling again to expell all impurities. It was necessary to filter the parts which were unable to be cleansed, since it would harm the body if infused into one's Dantians.

There were three Dantians inside oneself, the upper, the middle and the lower Dantian. The upper one was located inside the head, the middle one inside the chest and the last one at the waist.

The first was for the spiritual energy, deciding the power of the will one wields. The middle Dantian was for the energetical effect on the person and also the main source, since it was used for activating the techniques. The last one was for the physical strength and hardness of one's skin, flesh and bones.

To build a stable and powerful foundation, I had to train all three, pushing myself to the limits. Only then could I ascend to the next stage of cultivation and brakethrough.

I sensed the Qi flowing into my body, rampaging inside. I directly channeled it and guided it into my Dantians, splitting it into three same sized portions.

I felt a soothing sensation wash over my body, as some of my wounds slowly healed. I remembered the times when such small things were taken care of automatically. To sense something so good was refreshing and nostalgic.

Before I could continue my procedure, I needed to unlock my 12 meridians first. Even though I could lead Qi into my Dantians, some of the energy would still be diverted to the first meridian. To unseal it, I had to guide it through my body directly to the meridians. Only with enough Qi would the meridians open and unleash some power. After that would all energy flow into my Dantians and I would be able to cultivate normally.

For now, I lead the accumulated Qi through my Dantians to open the first meridian and gain some strength. Then I would learn one of techniques I can still recall, boosting my battle prowess.

I didn't know how long it would take for me to unseal each of the meridians, so I just kept going.

---

Energy was unleashed, as I opened the first meridian. I wasn't sure how much time had passed, but it had to be a few days, considering how hungry I was right now.

My priority was to hunt an animal and eat it. If I didn't, I'd die.

Bur before I could do that, I had to learn some of the techniques I should be able to cast, taking my limited Qi reserves into perspective. I could only hunt with something that was more powerful than the animals living here.

Again I searched through my memories to look for suitable techniques. While doing so, I found some interesting stuff. There were three things that stood out, "Flammable Palm", "Heavenly Lightning" and "Omega Technique". I was also interested in the "44 Phoenix Stances", but to learn them, I needed more time than I had.

I thought I should be able to train the three techniques to perfection in one day and immediately started with my training.

My comprehension level was quite good for mortals. That's why I was able to quickly learn things.

After a day of training, my belly was only louder than before, growling audibly. I decided, that now was the right time to go out and hunt.
