Mara blinked a few times. Her eyes widened as they moved from Wren to Rowan. She let out a little breath full of relief as she abandoned the dagger she'd been holding, moving as if to hug them both but not sure which one to share her relief with first. She settled on throwing her arms around Wren since he was closest.
"Loma and…Grandpa said Rowan was going to bring you home, but I was so scared. You fell in the pond, and I know the pond erases people." Her lip trembled, but she held in her tears.
Wren's eyebrows lifted at the word grandpa. Erebus's tail beat enthusiastically against the ground to let them know exactly who she was referring to. Not that it was hard to figure out.
