Saturday has come. Meeting up with Kazanawa.
I woke up and cooked my morning breakfast. My breakfast is just scrambled eggs with rice and milk. After I eat my breakfast, I change my clothes into PE pants and a shirt.
My phone rang and I immediately answered it.
"Hello?"
"Amayori-Kun. Im at tsumugi coffee shop now"
"Wait for me, I'll be there any minute"
I went jogging to meet Kazanawa at Tsumugi Coffee shop. She seems to be looking for it because she arrived there so early.
I saw her sitting outside while drinking water.
"Did you jog all the way here?
"Yeah, it's just my first time since I wanted to participate in some Sports this year. Seems we will go somewhere. Where will we go?
"At school"
"Why there? Also, why wear PE clothes?"
"It's free to use the gymnastic room, track & field Area, and sports court so let's go"
"Weak immune system, weak muscle, strength is low, and stamina is low. This means you won't last long in this school with your current health"
"You bring me here and make me wear PE clothes to exercise?"
"Exactly. Also, I'll teach you how to defend yourself from bullies. Don't worry, I'll just teach you self-defense"
That's one of the reasons why I did meet and agreed to teach her.
"First, do the basic stretching so we can move to jog"
After stretching, both of us went to the track & field Area.
"Kazanawa, let's do 2 laps"
"That's too hard"
"You won't be able to make yourself strong, also your body is weak. Your health is not okay. You spend your life eating, sitting, laying, watching, sleeping, studying, and making yourself stressed. Well, your way of studying is not bad, but the rest is bad for your health. You don't do exercises that are why your body is weak. That's the reason why you didn't take sports because you didn't try once in your school life. You do want to do what the normal students do right? You want to participate in sports right?"
"Yes, I want to be a normal student and I want to participate in sports"
"Then, let's start with how we will increase your stamina. Then after that, we will proceed with playing sports where you fit in"
A girl watched us from the third floor and went walking to the student council room.
"President, Amayori Takayaji is in the school. Give me orders"
"Zomigashi, always keeps observing him. After all, he is—"
"Roger that President"
After 2 laps of running, Kazanawa seems very exhausted.
"I can't go any further—"
"Here, drink some water"
"Thanks"
"Rest 5 to 10 minutes then we will go 2 laps again"
"What? I'm going to die if we continue doing that"
We rested for 5 minutes and she went to the restroom.
She went back and told her about what we will do every Saturday.
"We will do 4 laps every Saturday. Also later, when we leave this school. We will do 2 more laps then we'll go home"
"What? There is no choice, you're so pushy"
"No, I'm just worried about your health"
"Why are you so worried about me? Is there any reason?"
"When I was a kid, I had a weak friend. She was just like you, being bullied and abused. I was always right by her side. She was the best person who became my very true friend. We stick together, but one day. I got news from the school that she passed away. That's the reason why I'm helping you out. I failed to make her better"
"Sorry for asking, I shouldn't have asked you"
"No it's okay, it's not hurting me anymore. It's been 10 years, and I think she has already forgiven me. Wait, it's already 10 minutes. Don't dodge the time that I've given you"
"Please, I can't do it anymore"
"No, you can"
After the 2 laps, I asked her what kind of sport she wanted. She said that she wanted to do volleyball.
I teach her about Serving, receiving, and Spiking. But in the beginning, I made her fight with the wall using receiving first. After we practiced receiving, I moved on to Spiking.
"Kazanawa, just timing your jump and the fall of the ball and do it at the same time you jump and the ball's fall. That's for the beginners like you"
"Amayori-Kun, how long will we play and go home already?"
"We will go home if you manage to perfect your serving"
By saying that, she went outside of the line near the serving area. She lifted the ball, jumped, and hit the ball perfectly.
"I…I did it Amayori-Kun. I did the jump serve, the perfect serving that you were talking about"
Well, I did indeed see that serve of her. Also, that jump serve is perfect. She strengthens her feet and jumps to hit the ball by using her all strength. It was remarkable, I wonder if she can do it next time. I'm not kidding, it was a remarkable serving. Well, I guess I'll call it a day. I've been using my energy recently so I need to go home and take a rest the whole day.
It's been almost 4 months and a half since I and Kazanawa have hung out. The second semester is about to start in three days. The school did say to us that it's required to go in the week before the second semester started. She now does change so far than before. She is now a petite girl, unlike the time we met on the rooftop.
Takegami and Kazanawa did manage to arrange and became friends. It happened 1 month after the first semester started. Kazanawa did say to me that she wanted to talk with Takegami, which is impossible for her to talk calmly with Takegami. But, I didn't expect that Takegami would accept talking with Kazanawa so calmly. They talked inside the cafe shop while I was sitting outside.
After they talked, they seemed well and looked like nothing happened. That's why these past few days until now. They fought together and became partners in volleyball sports. I don't know the details about what happened to Takegami but it's a relief that she changed her heart.
Now that I mention that they became partners. Kazanawa improves her skills. She is now stronger than before. That's why last week, I stopped seeing her every Saturday and returned to my old days because I already promoted her that she now can face whatever she wanted to face.
"Amayori, The battle will start in three days. So we need to practice our best combo more"
Now that the battle was mentioned. Last time, I accidentally showed my skills in volleyball. I perfectly spiked the ball while there were three blockers in front of me and still managed to score. Kamikaze, Shikinara, and I were called by our coach the three legends. I don't know the reason why but I think it's because at the time we three beat coach Daru on 3v3. It turns out that I joined volleyball sports because Sato and Kazanawa forced me.
Lately, the coach gives us a rest and the court turns crowded when the girl's volleyball starts. They've been looking at Sato since earlier. Well, a girl like her will be really popular. Also, Kanazawa seems to become popular bit by bit recently.
Sato is good at volleyball too. She was with Kazanawa and Takegami's team. Their setter is Takegami while Kazanawa and Sato are the spikers. They also have good libero and blockers so their team now is fine.
The practice ended and the time was about 3 pm so I guess we will take a break and Attend archery and kendo training as soon as possible.
"Amayori-Kun!"
A girl called me, I looked back and it was Sato.
"What is it?"
"Do you want to join us? We will take a short break and eat at the cafeteria before doing archery and kendo training. What do you think? Wanna join us?"
"Hey, Sa-chan, Wagami-san will be joining too"
Wait a minute. If it was Wagami Sazena, I wouldn't get involved with her. She knows anything about my past. I'd better not see her.
"Sorry but, I'm not gonna join. I'm gonna go to the Kendo—"
"Amayori-Kun, you said you'll gonna treat me after the practice"
Now that she mentioned it. I did have a bet with Kazanawa. It's about if she'll win on 1v1 kendo with me, I'll be treating her.
That time. We were eating at the cafeteria and suddenly, she went on a bet and if I lose, I'll be treating her.
I mostly beat her but I remembered that I shouldn't be showing my abilities so I gave her an opening on purpose for her to win.
"Ah, I remembered. Sorry Sato-san, I have things to do with Kazanawa-san"
"Is that so, then I'll invite you next time. I wanted to introduce you to Wagami, maybe I'll do it next time. Bye-bye, we gotta go now"
It's good timing that kazanawa showed up and also I mostly forgot about the bet.
"Then, what do you want to buy?"
"Um…hmmm, let me think. Okay then, buy me what are you gonna buy"
"Only that?"
"Yup"
I went to the restroom first and I accidentally bumped into the shoulder of Gojo's puppet.
I apologized immediately and went to the cafeteria while Kazanawa got something in the classroom. But, these guys aren't gonna leave me alone just like that.
"Oi oi, is that how you apologize?"
"Is there any way to apologize?"
"Sure it has, bow your head to the ground and we'll let you go"
"I refuse"
"Okay then, we'll just teach you a lesson—"
A girl appeared and showed an incredible kick to the guy's face.
"What are you doing? Don't lay a hand on Amayori-Kun. or else, I'll make hell in front of you"
"You bastard—"
And kazanawa kicked one of those guys again.
"Wait a minute Kazanawa-san, is this fine? You surely went far on that"
"It's fine, look there. There is a camera around so they'll know who started it even if these guys report us. Anyways, let's go now"
I feel sorry for those guys. Kazanawa has gone strong and changed so much. On those Saturday days, I also teach basic self-defense and taekwondo. I too can call her a monster with her hidden talents. She is caught up with me and that's a relief to me because I don't want to be the highest or lowest. I'm a person who dislikes being the first. Also, Kazanawa promised herself that she'll use that thing that I taught her in a benevolent way and for me. She is so very fast to learn when I'm teaching her.
Anyway, Kazanawa and I walked to the cafeteria with her bright smile. Unlike then, I can only see sorrowful things on her face. But now, her face was full of joy.
"Amayori-senpai! wait a minute"
A girl in the hallway called us by the time we were entering the cafeteria which is in the corridor.
"The players are already written on the list. You and Kaga-san will bring that to the student council room. Sato-san canceled and went home due to an emergency. And Damagaha-san refused to go. since Katakenawa-san and Tagamishi are absent, so they'll just call both of you since others are absent and busy"
"Why do both of us need to go? Either one of us can do that"
"Good point, I think so too but it was the secretary's order. She might get that order from Kizuna the student council president"
This is such a tiresome life. Also, I've observed that the student council's errands are always around whenever I go recently. They might be observing me or something odd to the students, but there is no trouble or oddness about the student. All I can say is that the school name is odd. I have a few theories about this school but I still have to wait for the second Second semester to know all about the upcoming ceremony.
"Kizuna-chan, would you like to join us? We just gonna eat and go practice already since it's still rest time"
"Really? I'm happy to join, is that okay Amayori-senpai?"
"Sure, I don't mind it"
"Eh, Amayori-senpai. Show some emotion sometimes"
"Now that you mentioned it. That's true Amayori-kun. I don't see you crying, laughing, surprised, and smiling"
Those things that I can't do. I don't know why ever since then. I didn't show any emotions when I was in grade 5. My aunty and my sister think so too. It's like that emotion doesn't exist to me or like, it's forbidden for me for time being. Maybe it was caused by my old memories.
"But you know Kazanawa-san when I was in 7th grade and Amayori-senpai in 8th grade. He always used to be cool even though his attitude is like this. When we both are in the same club, he can manage the club's atmosphere. He looks like a real detective—"
"Kizuna, I did tell you that don't mention that"
"Just kidding. Anyway, we should get going now"
They sat at the table and I bought donuts and drinks.
"Oh donuts, you like donuts Amayori-senpai"
"Huh? Did he always eat donuts?"
"Yeah, even we are in Tomosaki High school"
"Amayori-Kun"
I heard a girl's voice coming from outside of the cafeteria so I left Kazanawa and Kizuna for a minute to look outside of the corridor.
"There you are. The student council now needs the leading students. The only present leader is You, me, and Kotori. They are about to discuss something with us right now"
"Go ahead first, I'll catch up soon as possible"
"Well then, bye. See you at the meeting"
I went back to Kazanawa and Kizuna to inform them that I might not be attending kendo training, due to the meeting.
I left them both and headed to the student council room.
I opened the door and saw Kaga, also Damagaha that I thought would not be attending. Also, the Kaegara guy is in the room. All of the student council members including us, the chosen leaders, and Kaegara were discussing the battle starting Thursday.
"The school and the student council approve this coming Event. It will be called Battle Festival. About the battle festival, it will start on Thursday and it will end on Saturday. The festival will hold three days"
"Student leaders. Here is the paper announcement. I'll clear this announcement before you passed to all of the students"
"Inform the guardian that it was required for students to stay in the dorm for three days starting on Thursday due to the festival. On the first day, the battle is Archery and Kendo Competition. On the second day, Brawl battles both Kendo and Archery. The last day is Team Survival Battle. Game rules are at the back of the page. You guys can understand the rules, so we'll leave it to you guys to explain them to your classes. Also from tomorrow to Wednesday, we only have practice for the Battle festival and the practice will start at 11 AM"
I looked at Kaga and she seemed curious about the festival. She stood up and asked a question to the student council president.
"What exactly is this Battle Festival about?"
"It's all about history. This Festival is simply for History subjects. It's all about War, the battle of the Gods and Demons. Do you know the title of "How humanity Ends"? I supposed most students are not interested in that kind of story—"
"I read it, I finished it. But, aren't they supposed to be fairy tales? I mean it's not true. because in that war, magic exists so basically it's just fantasy. Shouldn't we be doing this kind of fairy tale festival?"
It was wrong. Magic did exist, but it was forbidden hundred years ago. When I was making stories, I also did some research. I have found that the existence of Magic exists. I contacted the person who was in charge of that story. That person lent me the book where the story he/she made comes from. The chaos that is happening in Japan is not an accident. It is caused by the creature who is awakening because of the magic. I don't know the reason why creatures are waking up just for the magic. But in the book, the goddess killed all who were holding magics. Before magic was made forbidden eternally, the goddess made creatures to destroy magics. My theory is that magic will be forbidden eternally. Why does A goddess make creatures to destroy if she destroys all magic holders? There are two answers to that question. First, She failed to destroy all magic holders that might have unforbidden the magic. The second is that magic from the other world might invade this world that's why she summoned creatures. Only two theories that I have, and also. The book's theory is that the other god or goddess might cause chaos in the world. Well, that makes any sense.
Back to the topic. I also read that book weeks ago. It's about the fight between two gods Amaterasu and Dark God. I heard the name Amaterasu from Kaegara. The ending of that story is that Amaterasu didn't stand a chance against the Dark Gods and Tried to escape by using forbidden magic. Which can travel to a parallel world. She made a utopia in that world and made those people summoned to her world to defeat the Demon God. The story isn't finished, or else. The story is perpetuating.
The President looked at me with a smile while I was thinking about what I knew.
"Yes, that story is fantasy. But all of it is true. Some students may not believe that, so I'd like this to be part of the festival for God mythologies, which is what was written in our final lesson in the History book. This history book is made up by the school so every student must follow it"
No one now pursues talk and agrees with the Student council and the school's decisions.
The meeting ended and Kaga walked with me heading to the classroom since the school had already finished.
Since school has already ended, the student leader meeting doesn't have time to have a meeting in the school so we planned to go on a meeting using our mobile phones and explained it to every class group chat.
"Amayori-kun, are you okay? Your looks are very sharp, what are you thinking about?"
"Ah, nothing. It's just the meeting earlier"
"Did you believe them? Because I don't think it's true"
"You can call it that some of that story is true"
"Eh, what makes you believe that"
"From the book of Ages. I still have that book since I liked it somehow, I did keep it on my bookshelves"
"Hmm…Would you mind letting me come to your place? If you make me borrow that, I might lose some of its pages or get wet. Because sometimes, when I was reading a book at home. I get sloppy and always lose pages and get covered by water. So for safety, I'd like to read it at your place"
"But, please do read it fast because I sleep so early. I might be late for school tomorrow"
"What time do you sleep?"
"About 8 pm"
"Ehhh? Too early. Students these days always sleep by 10 to 12"
"Well, I don't do much at home so I just get some sleep and ready for my school stuff"
"Wait, I have a question. I've been wondering about this since last week. Do you live with Mayase-sensei? I don't see her going out of school. Also, all of the teachers, student council, and 11th to 12th grade don't either. They just stay in the dorm"
"I guess it was part of the school rules"
"But, don't they miss their families? It's sad if you are not with your family, just living alone"
'Well if you live alone for too long, you'll get used to it"
I and Kaga walked down the street and it seemed like Kazanawa had already gone home.
We arrived at my apartment and A coincidence happened. We bump into Kazanawa and Kizuna in front of my apartment.
"Yo! Amayori-kun. Perfect timing"
"What do you mean by that?"
"We are going to have fun tonight. Also, what are you guys doing?"
"Ah, Kaga-san want to borrow sometime si she went here with me"
"Ahhh I see, do you want to join Kaga-san?
"I found you guys, well then, let's have a fun night"
A girl appeared at my back and it was Sato and Wagami— wait, this is bad for me. It's many people going into my apartment. Also, Wagami tagged along with this kind of event, I won't allow it.
"Ama-chan, keep your visitors down in the hallway. You might disturb the neighbors"
"Sorry Fubuwa-san, pardon us"
"Well then let's go in"
And they went inside without my permission.
"Wow, this place is new, it is so clean and there are not many things around. Did you leave here alone Amayori-Kun?"
"Yeah"
"Huh? Didn't you have any parents? Didn't Mayase-sensei go here?"
"I used to live alone since grade 7"
"Eh???"
All of them are shocked. Well, I have indeed lived alone since then.
"Then how'd you earn money for the bills?"
"Online earning. Also, the story competition that I joined in"
"You sure got matured very early"
"Well, I'll be homeless if I didn't do anything for my situation that time"
They went all over my place and looked around.
"Kazanawa, Can you help me to buy food ingredients?"
"Oh, everyone. We will just go out to buy food ingredients"
"Food ingredients? Just buy food or snacks at the convenience store. It'll just waste your money"
Natsuki was concerned about our money. It's okay for me to use the money if it's for food. Also, it's embarrassing to everyone if they come here and I don't prepare any food. Also, my refrigerator doesn't have any food stacks so I think I'll have to buy food and go grocery tomorrow.
"It's okay since I still haven't eaten yet. I'm gonna cook for everyone"
"Eh? Do you cook?"
Everyone seems surprised just because I said I'm gonna cook for everyone.
"Yeah, just simple cooking"
"Alright, I'm gonna help. Teach me too how to cook"
Sato volunteered to help me with cooking.
"Wait a minute Amayori-kun. Where is the book? I'm gonna read it while you guys were out"
"Inside the table in my room"
"Alright, Take care"
I opened the door and Kizuna called out to us.
"Wait! Wait! Wait! I'm coming with you"
"I thought you don't like walking? The convenience store is a little bit far"
"Not anymore, also it's been years that I did say that. I didn't expect you to remember it—"
Sato pulled her and I slang the door and went outside.
While going down the stairs, we saw the landlady of the Apartment.
"It's surprising for you to bring friends to your place Ama-chan"
"Huh? Is it just the first time that Amayori-kun brings some friends home?"
"Yes, Ever since he moved here alone. He doesn't bring any person into his place"
"How sad life you had back then Amayori-kun. But don't worry, this year will be the happiest year ever in your life."
"Well, I look forward to making some friends this year at the time my first year started"
"Well then Fubuwa-san, we'll gonna get going now"
"Alright, have a safe night walk with Ama-chan"
We had already arrived at the exit and walked on the sidewalk to the convenience store.
Suddenly, Kazanawa asked me a question about my life.
"Amayori-kun, you did say that you have only lived alone since when you were in grade 7 right? Then who took care of you when you were in grade 6?"
"My Aunty, she passed away because of the illness so my Sister takes care of me"
"Then after that?"
This isn't supposed to be storytelling, or should I say, I shouldn't be saying this to her because there's nothing valuable about it.
"My sister is my only guardian but after one month of her first-year school, she just didn't return until now and I move apartment"
"Huh? How do you suppose not to see her if you moved without any message"
"I did leave a message at our house. But, looks like she isn't able to read it or she still doesn't return that time"
"You know Amayori-kun, I'm starting to think about school. Something is odd about it. Like it's not what normal school and international schools do"
"Yeah, I think the same and I guess it's the same as Kizuna"
"Kizuna? What about her?"
"When I was in grade 8, I was Kizuna's senpai. Well, in her way of curiosity, she asked me to teach her about being a detective. I teach her only the observing way of investigating. You see, sometimes she wanders around the school. What she doing is observing and gathering data"
"For what reason?"
"Nothing, it's just her habit. Also, she was liking that kind of hobby"
"I can't do that kind of thing. I think my head will explode just for that"
"Observing is basic. Curiosity is the top priority. You need to pay attention to anything that you see and hear"
"That kind of hobby is surely tiresome"
"Well, I do feel the same"
We both end up in front of the convenience store just talking about the school.
"Kazanawa, do they eat onigiri?"
"Hmm, if you can make some then let's buy some ingredients"
"Go get for the drinks, I'll go get for the ingredients"
We immediately went back to my apartment.
"Oh, you guys are back"
"Natsuki, why are you wearing pajamas? You too Sato-san"
I checked the room and it was not only Sato and Natsuki who were wearing pajamas but all of them.
"We will be going to overnight here"
"Right, we will play games and have fun"
The sensation is like I can't do anything. Mostly like they own this place. Well, I'm looking for some friends so I'll let this slide for now.
"Um…You guys can sleep in this room"
"Whoa, it's clean. So a mature place. Who owns this room?"
"No one. I did choose an apartment with two rooms just in case"
Well, to be honest. I picked two rooms just in case my sister came into my apartment since I still have her phone number even though I didn't get any contact with her all those years.
A few hours later after we ate, I washed all the dishes.
"What an amazing food, super delicious"
"Amayori-san, would you mind me helping you with that?"
"I don't mind it"
Wagami helps me with washing dishes which is bothering me.
"Cold as always"
Wagami-san, why did you tag along?"
"Hmm… Sato-san invited me"
"Did you know that I was involved?"
"Don't be like that, we were classmates when we were in grades two to five"
"You are not scared of me?"
"Oh, you remember the conflict between Heavenly Dragon and Raven Rascal?"
"Yeah, I wanted to forget that. That was the memory that I wanted to forget"
"Sure thing and I hope we'll get along this time"
"If you did what I say, I'll be getting along with you"
Wagami is my old classmate who was part of the 3rd Generation of Raven Rascal. She was the leader of the Raven Rascal 5th unit. The cause of her retirement is because the traitor of heavenly wings tried to end the 5th unit of Raven Rascal and she ended up in hospital. She knows everything about me and the conflict between Heavenly Dragon and Raven Rascal. I left that school at the time I turned into 6th grade. My aunty wants me to change schools and get a new fresh start. So many things happened back then and I don't want to remember them again. But there is a problem. The problem is Wagami itself.
"What are you guys talking about?"
"Nothing, she just asked me about school things"
"I'll go buy snacks before we start watching"
Kizuna and Natsuki went out to buy snacks.
After Wagami and I finished washing dishes, I went to my room and saw that everyone was inside.
"What are all of you doing here?"
"We'll gonna play here since you're room is clean and nice"
"That's not an exceptional answer—"
"Sit down already, you too Sazena. Let's start the card games. What about you Kaga-san?"
"Me? hmm… I'll pass, I'm mostly finished reading. I'll join if I'm done"
We played card games while waiting for Kizuna and Natsuki until they came.
"What are you guys doing?"
"Oh, you guys are already here. Nothing, just sharing about ourselves"
"I see, alright then. Turn on the TV and let's watch some horror movie marathon"
"What? Horror? Hehe, i– I'm going out for a second—"
"No escaping, stay here"
Sato grabbed Natsuki in and locked the door"
I stood up and saw Kaga fall asleep.
I tapped her shoulder to wake her up because the movie is about to start.
"Kaga-san"
"Hmm? Oh, sorry I fell asleep. What are we going to watch?"
"Horror"
"Wow, interesting. Right Natsuki-kun?"
"Dont scare me Takase"
I gave them a comforter just in case they feel so cold.
After the movie, everyone has already fallen asleep except me because I'm uncomfortable sleeping while someone is around.
I stood up and decided for me to carry them to the room that I gave to them.
I carried Sato, Wagami, and Kaga who fell asleep on the ground.
Kazanawa and Kizuna were sleeping so I didn't carry them and let them sleep there.
Natsuki ends up sleeping on the sofa. I don't want to sleep in a room with a girl so since I don't have a place to sleep so I sleep on the ground beside Natsuki and put a comforter on me to sleep there.
The next day at 9 AM, I woke up and Kazanawa's face was closed, and I was looking at my face while I was sleeping.
"What are you doing?"
"Hmm… you are cute when you are sleeping"
"Forget it, anyway. Where are the others?"
"They already went home by 8:30 to get ready their breakfast and school staff I guess"
"You should go home too"
"No, I'm gonna stay here and go to the school with you"
"But do you have clothes?"
"Of course, also my parents are not been home since yesterday so I planned to stay here until they came home"
"I see, then go on shower now. I'll be ready for breakfast"
"(His girlfriend will be so lucky to have him)"
"Did you say something?"
"Nothing, just talking to myself"
I cooked breakfast while Kazanawa was taking a shower and after that, we ate breakfast and went to school already.
