Chapter 58 - Sorry, Salsabil

Back in current time, Kassius runs out of the room and Sado follows him. They fight through the hall, constantly going back and forth. Kassius continues to get forced back as Sado starts to overwhelm. He kicks Kassius into the stairwell. Kassius avoids just as Sado tries to stomp him and climbs up the stairs. They reach the top of the stairwell and they continue to fight. Kassius tries to kick Sado but his leg is grabbed. Sado grabs him and tackles him through the door. As they slam through, both go to the ground. As both rise to their feet, Sado looks up to the nightsky.

Sado: "We're on the-"

The tragic event flashes through his mind, making him struggle to breathe.

Sado: "No, not again..."

Kassius rushes back in and lays on attack after attack. Sado struggling gets hit time after time.

Kassius (in head): "Now."

Kassius throws a punch but misses. Sado wastes no time, capitalising by punching Kassius in the face, making him stumble back. Sado takes the offensive, and lays a barrage on Kassius. More and more, Kassius gets hit as he struggles to keep up and tries his best to block. He gets backed up to the edge of the roof. Sado looks at Kassius' fatigued face.

Sado: "This is the end."

Sado throws a heavy punch, but suddenly Kassius energetically avoids it and flips Sado off the roof. In that moment, Sado uses his technique and ends up right behind Kassius. However, before he can even comprehend, Kassius' fist strikes his face immediately. The heavy impact, catching him off guard, completely rattles Sado and sends him tumbling back on the ground. Kassius finally stops to breathe. Sado, on the floor, barely conscious, stares at the sky.

Sado (in head): "Salsabil..."

Kassius looks at Sado without saying a word.

Sado: "Hamza..."

Sado, finally succumbing to his fatigue, falls unconscious. Down in the basement, the group finally start a vehicle. Up near the top, Bonnie and Hamza both lie on the ground. Barely getting back on their feet, they look at each other.

Bonnie: "You-"

Bonnie falls back to the ground. Hamza, on weak legs, slowly falls back down, using the wall to guide him. Arnold reaches the floor and looks from the stairwell.

Arnold: "Bonnie, are you OK?"

Bonnie: "Of course!"

Arnold: "...Alright, I'll be b-"

Interrupting him, footsteps from the top coming down approach slowly. As he turns the corner, he sees Kassius walking down.

Arnold: "Kas."

Kassius: "Yo."

He shows the diamond to him, which makes Arnold smile a bit.

Hamza: "No... that's..."

Bonnie: "Haha... told you..."

Kassius: "We need to leave."

Bonnie: "Why?"

Kassius: "Some people are coming for the diamond. And I can't fight anymore."

Bonnie: "I can still fight."

Kassius: "Get up right now then."

Bonnie rushes onto her feet.

Bonnie: "Se- woah!"

She falls back down.

Bonnie: "...that was on purpose."

Arnold walks up to her and helps her on her feet. Kassius lets them walk down first. He looks towards Hamza, and he looks back.

Kassius: "He's alive."

Kassius walks down, leaving Hamza alone on the floor. Kassius, Arnold and Bonnie finally make it to the bottom floor and see the others waiting by a car.

Kaizen: "Ready to leave?"

Kassius flaunts the diamond with a cheeky expression on his face.

Kassius: "Mhm!"

They all enter the car and drive off.

Arnold: "You want us to go back to the central station?"

Ayana: "Yes. There's someone we have to meet there if we want to leave without complications. A man called Dor'al Dunya."

Kassius: "Hmm... I feel like I heard that name before."

Bonnie: "It's that dude who came out of nowhere that one time."

Kassius: "Ohh, that guy. But how is he going to help us exactly?"

Ayana: "Have you guys ever heard of Tempora?"

A bewildered look rises on their faces. Back at the bandits' base, Hamza slowly limps to the rooftop. As he goes through the door he sees Sado on the ground.

Sado: "Hamza... you're..."

Hamza tries to pick up Sado but he's too hurt.

Sado: "You cannot carry me the way you are. Put me down. Please."

Hamza, struggling to decide, places him down.

Hamza: "Then I-"

Sado: "Any time now, they will be here and see the mess. And following that, they will rid of me. I want you to leave."

Hamza: "But Sado..."

Sado: "Perhaps a town on the coast is a good place to settle for a bit. You can start there."

Hamza fights back the tears but they forcefully flow down his face.

Sado: "I do ask you give my half to my father and mother when you can. I hope... I saved enough."

A group of people walk through the basement.

Leader: "Check the building."

They walk through the building, heading up through the stairs and finally reach the rooftop. All the way across, they see Sado sat up near the ledge.

Leader: "What could have happened here, ay Talman?"

Sado: "The diamond was taken."

Leader: "Then I'm afraid you are out of time."

The group of men rush towards Sado. Although he fights them off a bit, he gets overwhelmed and pinned down.

Leader: "This is goodbye. Throw him."

Memories flood Sado's brain, as he recollects his life. The men throw him over the ledge. As Sado soars through the air, the moment of his daughter falling plays back in his head once more. Instead of her falling alone, this time he catches her and falls with her.

Sado (in head): "I'm sorry, Salsabil. I've spent too much time away. I hope you can forgive me when we meet."

As he falls, he remembers a young Hamza. A tear falls from Sado's face.

Sado (in head): "Illusions aren't so bad, I suppose. Live a happy life."

A loud thud is heard from the roof.

Leader: "Let's leave."

As they head back down, one of the men stop him.

Man 1: "Boss."

Leader: "Situation?"

Man 1: "All of the bandits are out. But..."

The man leads the boss to a room.

Man 1: "Both of them are dead."

They walk over to Dune.

Man 1: "By strangulation I'm guessing. Over there however..."

They walk over to Sandworm.

Man 1: "His left arm and right leg are definitely broken. And his neck is twisted horribly too."

Leader: "Quite a gruesome death. I suppose we are lucky we did not cross the paths of the people that did this."

Arnold, focused dead ahead, drives the vehicle as they approach the central station. He parks some distance away and they all get out. After walking a bit, they reach the same alleyway. Just as they turn, they see him standing there.

Ayana: "Dor'al."

Dor'al: "Miss Ayana. I am pleased to see you alive. And you are those people I read the message for. Pleased to meet you again. Now, Ayana. I will ask you just in case. Are you willing to take responsibility for whatever happens from now or shall I rid of them here?"

Kassius, Arnold and Bonnie all tense up prepared to fight.

Ayana: "I will take responsibility from here on."

Everybody eases up.

Dor'al: "Alright. Then allow me to escort you all to Tempora. Follow me."

They follow him into the station and walk down a path. They eventually reach the bathrooms. Inside the area, there are three doors, for the mens, womens and disabled persons' bathrooms. Dor'al walks up to the disabled room's door. He traces the outline of the door. He then recites something aloud. Finally, he knocks three times.

Dor'al: "All done."

Kaizen (whispering): "What is happening?"

Kassius (whispering): "Not sure. Maybe he doesn't know how to open doors?"

Kassius: "Yo, you have to gr-"

Dor'al: "I am aware on how to use a door. Anyway, once I open this door, we will have ten seconds to enter or it will shut on its own. In three... two... one... now."

Dor'al opens the door. Ayana and Feela rush through immediately. Kaizen runs in with Clyde in his arms. Bonnie follows right after. Finally, Kassius and Arnold run in and Dor'al behind them, with the door shutting.

Kassius: "Where are we?"

Dor'al: "Welcome to Tempora."
