Chapter 55 - Chosen By The Sun

On the 2nd floor, Clyde runs towards Dune. As he swings relentlessly, she evades him, laughing in his face. He tries to punch her but she kicks him in the face before he can react. But Clyde shrugs it off, as his nose starts bleeding. He bear hugs Dune.

Dune: "What the-"

Clyde: "Now, Feela!"

Feela rushes as fast as she can to Ayana. Dune gets furious and headbutts Clyde, which weakens his grip. She then hugs him back and flips him to the ground. She escapes from his hold and gets on her feet.

Dune: "Nice tr-"

She pulls her leg but she can't move. Looking back, she sees Clyde grabbing onto her ankle, struggling to move.

Clyde: "You're fighting me."

Dune angrily attacks him, hitting him all around, again and again. As he starts bleeding more and more, he still grips on.

Dune: "Shit! Let go!"

Sandworm looks over to Feela as she unties Ayana.

Sandworm: "What the hell are you doing Dune?!"

In a split second, Arnold grabs his leg and locks it, sending Sandworm to the ground. He tries hitting Arnold with the stick but Arnold evades and gets back up on his feet.

Arnold: "You should keep your focus on me."

Sandworm gets ticked off and immediately starts attacking Arnold. Dune, slowly dragging Clyde, keeps hitting him and pulling away. His grip starts weakening. Finally, Clyde lets go of her leg as she kicks him in the face. Dune suddenly stops.

Clyde: "Ha... you know... you've lost..."

Dune: "..."

Feela finally unties Ayana and they both get on their feet. But as Ayana and Feela look towards Clyde, they stop in shock. Dune continuously stomps on Clyde's neck. Over and over and over. She stops and looks down at Clyde.

Feela: "Cl... Clyde... no... Clyde!"

She falls to her knees, crying.

Dune: "You're free now, Ayana. Are you happy?"

Ayana, staring blankly with rage at Dune, instantly charges at her. As they start exchanging blows, Dune's fatigue starts to take a toll. Ayana lands blow after blow. Dune tries to attack back but gets kicked to the ground.

Dune: "Hahaha! Why so mad, Ayana? Don't tell me you're gonna cry. Haha! People die, you know. That's just how it i-"

Ayana gets on top of her and starts choking her. Dune, struggling to breathe, doesn't fight back. She simply smiles in Ayana's face. Barging into the room, Kaizen looks around to all the chaos. He sees Feela crying over Clyde who's lying on the ground.

Kaizen: "Shit!"

Kaizen rushes over and sees his neck. Kaizen, with no words to muster up, just looks on. Ayana continues choking Dune, even after she went unconscious. She grips ferociously, as though she's trying to tear into her neck. All the noise around her becomes faint. Tears start falling from her face but she continues to choke on. Dune opens her eyes.

Dune: "You lose. You failed them."

Ayana: "Shut up!"

Dune: "Hahahaha!"

Kaizen: "Hey, hey."

Ayana: "No! I'm gonna kill her!"

Kaizen: "She's already..."

As though walls shattered, she came back to her senses. Staring down with her hands on her neck Ayana sees Dune lying there, lifeless. She stares in horror, unable to think straight.

Arnold: "Kaizen! Take them and go! Find us a way to get out of here!"

Seeing Arnold standing up against Sandworm, he gets up on his feet and rushes to Feela.

Kaizen: "We have to leave."

Feela: "I-I can't leave him."

Seeing her sobbing, Kaizen picks up Clyde, carrying him.

Kaizen: "Then we won't leave him. But her..."

Feela looks over and sees Ayana, still holding onto Dune's neck. Feela walks over to her, calmly approaching.

Feela: "Ayana... we have to go."

Ayana: "She's right... I lost... it should've been me..."

Feela rushes in and hugs Ayana, crying on her shoulder.

Feela: "You didn't lose. Please don't say that. Clyde... wouldn't want that."

Ayana, slowly letting go, starts to cry too. Out from the side, Sandworm rushes in.

Sandworm: "If I can take you out, the boss will be satisfied at least."

As Sandworm rushes in to attack Ayana, Arnold jumps in and kicks his arm away from hitting her, disarming him.

Arnold: "Leave!"

Kaizen: "Let's go. We'll head down."

Ayana, wiping the tears off her face, notices Arnold holding his side.

Ayana: "Wait, I... I can help."

Arnold: "If you want to help, find a way out."

Ayana, although desperate to help, cannot bring herself to argue back.

Feela: "Let's go, Ayana."

They both get up and follow Kaizen as they leave the room. Arnold heavily panting, slowly lets go of his side.

Arnold (in head): "I've moved too much."

Sandworm, walking over to his stick, looks over at Dune.

Sandworm: "Such a shame, she did not die."

Arnold: "I want to ask something."

Sandworm: "Oh?"

Arnold: "The Shingeto paintings. What do you know of them?"

Sandworm: "The Shingeto paintings? Those are but a legend."

Arnold: "I'm assuming you don't have any then."

Sandworm: "I'll tell you for sure, if those paintings existed, every criminal in the world would be trying to steal it. What would someone like you want with them?"

Arnold: "That isn't your concern. But since you don't have any, then the rest of this is simpler."

Sandworm: "Indeed it is."

Running down at the basement, Kaizen and the others look around and see many vehicles.

Kaizen: "OK, what do we do?"

Ayana: "We can't just run."

Kaizen: "Well, obviously. That's why we need one of these."

Ayana: "No. I mean, there are people coming. And if they see us, they'll kill us. We have to get far away as quick as possible... Does anybody have a phone on them?!"

Kaizen: "Uh..."

Ayana looks around and sees all the knocked out bandits. She searches and searches, finally finding a phone on one of them.

Kaizen: "What's the phone for?"

Ayana: "I'm calling someone."

Up on the fourth floor, Bonnie is kneeling as she wipes blood off her nose. Staring at her, Hamza with barely a scratch on him, looks unfazed.

Bonnie (in head): "Why can't I hit him?"

Hamza: "Ayana... I always knew she'd be more harm than good."

Bonnie: "No point in making excuses now."

Hamza: "Excuses? No. Simply venting out my frustration. I'm not going to let a group of nobodies ruin what Sado has built."

Bonnie: "I'm afraid you don't get a say in the matter. After Kas beats your boss, it's a-"

Hamza: "Beats Sado? I must have hit you too hard. Sado is destined for greatness. You guys... you can't beat him. Beat the supernatural. Sado... he was chosen by the sun itself! You would be lucky if he survives."

Bonnie rushes in. As Hamza attempts to back off, he sticks in place as Bonnie steps on his foot. Catching him by shock, he tries to lean back but Bonnie headbutts him, causing him to stumble back.

Bonnie: "Argh! That hurt! What the hell is your head made of?"

Hamza, holding his bleeding nose, slightly loses his calm.

Hamza (in head): "A lucky shot."

Bonnie (in head): "I hit him this time. Something changed."

Bonnie: "I'm here to fight. Not for all this chit chat."

Hamza: "I agree. You've taken up too much of my time."

Hamza instantly goes in, attacking Bonnie. He swings and she manages to evade some, but he catches her with a kick and sends her back a bit. As he runs towards her, she runs at him and they both attack each other. Hamza tries to punch her but she manages to evade. As she tries to swing, he maneuvers around it and swings again, hitting her.

Bonnie (in head): "I think I get it now. Why I was able to hit him before."

Bonnie tries clearing space but he pulls in, continuing to attack her. Her guard weakens, as she stands on the defensive.

Bonnie (in head): "It was like he knew what I was doing. But when he got frustrated, he was slower. Maybe he's like the boss. Either way, I hit him because I went where I thought he was going."

Bonnie gets kicked to the ground as Hamza stares her down. Bonnie looks back at him, with a ferocious stare.

Hamza: "I'll end it now."

Bonnie (in head): "He's calm, so he'll read me better... I might have a plan."

Bonnie starts smiling and she stands up, still staring at him. Hamza rushes at her instantly. Just as he's about to attack her,

Bonnie: "Your boss is a bum!"

Hamza: "Wha-"

Bonnie rushes in and immediately punches, Hamza just barely avoiding it. She continues an onslaught, Hamza desperately evading trying to gather his thoughts.

Hamza: "What a childish trick."

He avoids a heavy swing and tries a counter punch. As he swings, he hits her. In that moment, Bonnie, as though water in a river, flowed with the hit and countered immediately. She strikes Hamza clear in the face, followed by a kick which sends him to the floor. Bonnie spits out some blood on the side of the floor.

Hamza (in head): "That threw me off. But even so, I hit her and she managed to hit me back. Even though I knew where she was going... could she? But she isn't aware it seems. I have to end this soon."

Bonnie: "Not so nice getting hit, is it?!"

Back up at the top, Kassius manages to keep away, as Sado attacks him. Sado angrily grabs him by the neck, but Kassius does the same. They both break off each other's chokes. Sado attempts to grab his neck again but Kassius stops his arm. Kassius knees him, hurting Sado. Kassius steps back and tries to spin kick him, but in that moment, Sado disappeared. Before Kassius turned around, Sado appeared right behind him and was about to punch him. Kassius, unexpectedly to Sado, dodges. He plants his hands on the ground and kicks up into a handstand, kicking Sado in the face, sending him stumbling backwards as blood drips from his face. Kassius gets up and faces Sado excitedly.

Kassius: "I get it now."

Sado: "Get it? You get nothing. You know nothing."

"Papa!"

Sado: "Argh!"

Sado palms his head in pain.

Sado: "This is all for you, my little Salsa."
