Why can't Mila and the others just return to their world that they are used to living in?

"Hmm? Aren't they back yet?" Mila asked Robert after they went inside her house.
Robert just shrugged his shoulders because there was no way he would know since the two of them were together.
"Can take care of Anni, bath her, and wrap her in cloth. I'll go to the pharmacy real quick." Mila asked.
She was worried about Christopher, but she couldn't leave Robert alone because she's wary of him messing up her house again.
Mila trusted Christopher because of how confident he was when he volunteered to pick up Ginalou.
