Standing out to the shores with their feet covered with sand and the ocean water. A massive forest with trees that stood 40 meter tall right in front of them. Riley and Ryan had arrived to the island of Polyphemus.
Looking up perplexity at the bright blue sky and massive scenery, Riley looked down and up walking through the boat to the sand. She felt flustered when touching the sand; This was her first time experiencing the warmth of the sand underneath her feet.
With a annoyed look Ryan casually snorted his expression walking pass her. Riley sneered her face watching as Ryan continued to walk away.
"We are not here to enjoy ourselves. We are here to hunt down some cyclopes," Ryan utterly spoke with a patronizing tone. He casually walked straight pass her entering inside the forest. Riley mockingly slide her tongue out behind his back.
The two leaped to on top of the trees branches with quick movements. The ize of the trees branches were massive as a entire house. Riley remarked that the forest was reminding her of the demon realm; Inside the demon realm forest like the one they were inside was not a rare thing. The demon realm was not an inferno place like the mortals know, it was a place beaming with life across its realm. Some of the place were not beaming with life, but there were places even the demons could create life inside them.
"Do not touch anything around here. There are a lot of poison plants spread around us," Ryan muttered with a soft voice. Riley quietly nodding her head, as a blue flower caught her attention for a small moment.
"Why should I not touch anything, when so much beautiful flowers are surrounding us now?" Riley asked.
"If you want to be poison by them then have fun touching them. I do not have any antidote with me." Ryan roughly explained the situation to a now quiet Riley. Riley turned disappointed as amazement turned to despair for her adventures mind.
For many generations the many herbs and plants were used to craft antidotes to cure many diseases. The antidotes were trade to other nations and lands making income for the place. Only the people of the island knew which plants were poisonous, and which were not. Some poisonous plants could kill any person in a seconds times.
Riley raised her brows quite interested in the talking of Ryan. She did not know that the mortal realm had so many surprising things that the records inside the demon realm did not speak on. The poisonous plants being spoken on by Ryan made her even more curious of the mortal realm; The demon realm had it share of poisonous plants, but none of them could ever harm them due to their strong immune system. Their immune system destroys the poison once it enter the body.
Looking up forward ahead, Riley saw a small bright light through the tree upfront. Sounds of things became louder at they enter outside the forest. While standing outside the forest ground, Ryan and Riley both looked towards through a vast landscape of the village called Thoosa. The land was covered with rice fields and roads that stretch throughout hills of the reign. There were wooden houses standing on top of the hills above the rice fields. The rice fields were worked by people and street merchants working the market areas.
Standing on top of road, Riley looked out with astonishment throughout the area. The place was quiet and peace almost like it did not have any problems with any cyclopes. Walking throughout the market area they passed by few merchants selling minerals and crafted works. Riley and Riley casually walked pass the area searching for the chief resident.
A few moments later, Riley and Ryan had arrived to the chief resident, they were standing inside the his office. The chief calmly greeted both Ryan and Riley with a warm smile across his face.
"It has been a long time since you have visited us sir, Ryan. The people have been awaiting your arrival back the here," The village chief spoke with a delighted look. He approached Ryan side raising his hand forward at his front. Noting the notion Ryan reciprocate the gesture by handshake.
"Sorry for my rudeness madam, I did not greet you with the same matter as sir Riley. I am the chief of the small village here. You can call me Lennox." The chief proudly introduced himself to Riley. Lennox was the grandson of the late chief Maxwell.
Lennox face turned sad thinking of words to say at Ryan and Riley. Riley slightly walked forward at him, but a halting steps after hearing Ryan voice telling her to her approach. The voice came from Ryan who stood with a quiet expression across his face. Lennox gently thanked Riley for wanting to comfort him.
"My people have lost their lives due to those ruthless monsters. Those cyclopes attack us every once a week, destroying our beloved fields and murdering many of our the people," Lennox stated with a grieving voice. He covered his face wiping the tears off his eyes. He then turned his back away walking towards the desk, placing his hand on top of it.
"I am sorry for your lost sir, we will find those monsters and make sure there pay for all their sins," Riley stated with a serous expression. Lennox faintly smiled nodding his head.
Ryan turned his gaze towards the door sensing something, but immediately drew his focus back at the chief.
After awhile both Ryan and Riley walked out the room to have a small chart leaving Lennox inside the room. Ryan questioned if she was stupid or what? Stating that she should learn to distance herself from clients in missions. Riley was puzzled by his words.
They walked back inside the room. Lennox was seating on a chair next to the desk. Ryan walked forward approaching the chief desk followed by Riley behind. "Such a beautiful woman. Is she your wife Ryan?"
Lennox question froze Ryan and Riley for a moment, before simultaneously denying it. Lennox remarked that they looked cute as a couple. Ryan and Riley awkwardly looked at each other denying that factor.
"Where do they usually come from?" Ryan asked with a firm tone. Immediately, the tension inside the room turned serious. Lennox explained everything to Ryan about the cyclopes, there whereabouts and staying.
While walking outside the chief house, Ryan took a glance back seeing Lennox quietly glaring at them as they walk away through the window. Lennox quietly absolved them as the walked away from the resident.
Walking outside the street through the village Riley was looking through the marketing area, shopping for food to prepare for her and Ryan. Ryan had his gaze on the villager that were moving pass him with large wooden boxes. With a keen a expression he disappeared through the place, looking back at him Riley was surprised to see him gone from sight. She annoyedly continued to shop for produces until her bag were full.
