Chapter 6 - Rain

"Come on!" invite Itsuki.

Sakurako was stunned. It took Sakurako a few seconds to realize the intention of Itsuki's outstretched hand. Sakurako looked at Itsuki probingly. It turned out that the young man in front of her was not as cold as she thought.

"You know? My hands are expensive, you know," Itsuki said, about to withdraw his outstretched hand.

"Okay!" Sakurako took Itsuki's hand. Ah, not bad either. For a youth as cold as Itsuki, his hands felt warm. Sakurako felt comfortable.

They had only walked a few meters, but suddenly it started to rain. It's getting louder and louder. Itsuki tugged on Sakurako's arm to find shelter.

The distance from the school where they are wise, is still a bit far. Itsuki invites Sakurako to take shelter at the bus stop.

"Hufft, why does it suddenly rain when the sun is still shining like this?" Itsuki muttered.

"Ah yes, I remember," Sakurako snapped her fingers and said, "usually in situations like this, someone has a wedding at my place."

"Huh? Wedding? When it's raining like this? Didn't you hire a rain handler?" said Itsuki who for some time became a naughty one like Takumi.

Sakurako was silent. She didn't understand what she just said.

"I... I don't remember anymore," she complained.

Itsuki saw Sakurako rubbing her arm, trying to warm herself up. He took off the red jacket he was wearing, then put it on Sakurako.

"Put it on!"

Sakurako tightened her jacket while looking at Itsuki who avoided her gaze. Sakurako smiled strangely.

"Hoho it seems my initial impression of you was wrong."

"Heh? What were you thinking about me earlier, huh?" Itsuki asked, curious.

"Secret," Sakurako replied with her usual odd giggle.

***

It's been about 30 minutes, but the rain hasn't let up. Sakurako started to sneeze, her body shivering with cold.

"Should I take you home by bus, eh?" Itsuki bargained who was starting to notice Sakurako's face was red, probably a fever.

"Hatchiuu, I... I'm waiting for Takumi a-choo ... to come home," replied Sakurako.

Itsuki nodded. "Hmm, fine."

Unbeknownst to them, a man was already behind them. The man had silvery white hair. He handed the umbrella to Itsuki.

"Take this girl to a warmer room!" the man ordered before he stepped into the bus.

"Wait! Then where should I return this umbrella, Sir?" Itsuki shouted to be heard by the man who was already at the bus door.

The man turned around. "No need to return it, it's free," the handsome man took a similar folding umbrella from his backpack, "buy one get one free."

"Huh??" Itsuki blinked slowly as he watched the man walk away.

"As I've seen before," muttered Sakurako in a voice trembling with cold.

Due to the umbrella being a bit small, Itsuki pulled Sakurako's arm into his embrace. They jogged towards the school building.

Itsuki entered the classroom with his cool steps. He saw Takumi resting his head on the bench while looking out the window. Itsuki sat right behind Takumi.

"Hey, I brought your girl to the infirmary," Itsuki said, interrupting Takumi's thoughts.

"She's not my girl!" Takumi argued, lazy.

"Then she's my girl." Itsuki said it casually while taking out a writing utensil.

"Hey! You?" Suddenly Takumi groaned hearing Itsuki's words.

"Besides, why did you take her to Health Room, um? Is it okay for non-students to use Health Room here?" added Takumi.

"Of course I can, isn't it my aunt who is in charge of guarding the infirmary," Itsuki replied casually. "But wait! Then, what do you care, Akazawa?"

"No, I don't care. I'm just surprised, I remember she was fine when I left you with her."

Takumi started to worry about Sakurako's condition. It's nothing, what if Sakurako turns out to be the son of the mafia leader? What if Sakurako complains about it when her memory comes back what will happen? Ah, just thinking about it frustrated Takumi.

"She seems to have a fever from the rain earlier."

"Huh?! You guys playing in the rain? The two of you?" Takumi was starting to get shocked imagining it.

Itsuki nodded. "He'em. Isn't it so romantic? Letting raindrops penetrate to cool the heart. Then, take shelter under a narrow umbrella together. Walk hand in hand through the rain by hugging each other and--"

Blam!

"Stop it, Minami! You think you're shooting a drama, huh!" snapped Takumi. He stomped his feet on the floor and walked with wide strides out of the classroom.

Itsuki shook his head, not understanding. "Tsk tsk tsk basic, five-year-old boy!" Itsuki grumbled staring at Takumi's departure.
