Joy Sutton returned home looking listless, went straight to her room, and fell onto the soft bed in a big "X" shape.
She just stared at the white ceiling with wide eyes, lost in thought.
Outside the door, the servant knocked a few times, but there was no response, feeling a bit worried, she called out.
"Miss, it's time for lunch, Miss, Miss."
Joy Sutton's drifting thoughts were suddenly pulled back with a "whoosh" and she responded with impatience.
"I know, I'll come down later on my own."
The servant, having received a response, retreated, seemingly accustomed to Joy Sutton's spoiled attitude, not finding it strange.
In the dining room, Sharon Warren was already seated. Noticing that the seat beside her was still empty, she asked the butler in some confusion.
"Where's Joy?"
The butler relayed what the servant had just said.
"The young lady said she'll come down later."
