A soft whisper tickled his ears, "Thank you for being alive..."
A pause.
"...Akira."
The name landed like a final blow.
Akira felt his whole body going stiff. A shiver ran down his spine.
At that exact moment, both Zaelek and Kaito reacted, ripping the two of them apart, shoving Asahi back with force.
"Don't touch him." Kaito's voice was strict as he warned.
However, Asahi did not look to be intimidated. Instead, he put on a shameless smile as he spoke, "I'm glad you guys could make time to come."
Kaito felt his hands tighten.
He stepped forward, placing himself between the two as he spoke, "How could we miss it?"
His lips curled up mockingly as he added, "This is going to be the wedding of the century."
There was a deeper underlying meaning behind his words, but Asahi did not seem to mind.
Soon enough, other guests had taken Asahi away, and Akira was left looking at the floor in utter shock.
