Everything was spinning, but slowly, I was starting to regain consciousness. A low groan emitted from my lips as I shuddered, trying my best to figure out what was going on.
I was swaying, though not on my feet. The ground beneath me wasn’t stable at all, which caused me to tense in panic for a moment.
My eyes slowly opened, and I looked around the room. It was a cabin of some sort, ornately decorated. Realization dawned on me that I was on some kind of boat.
That explained the rocking, and I relaxed just slightly as at least that question was answered. Everything else was up in the air, though.
My heart pounded as I recalled what happened. I’d been captured and brought… here. What ‘here’ was, I had no idea.
Whatever drug they gave me, though, made me feel very weak. I looked toward the door and realized that shifting and trying to get out wasn’t going to help me get anywhere.
I wasn’t sure if I had the energy to even walk two steps.
