Lex looked at Mary with a deadpan expression. He had called her here to share in his distress, not so that she could make him more distressed. As for the guest lying on the ground sleeping? Lex did nothing, because he could do nothing.
Technically, this was the part of his plan where he should continue reading the pamphlet, or begin planning on how to use select teleportation to rescue people. But Mary was already handling much of that with Velma, and Lex's main body was cultivating. For better or for worse, he was not going anywhere.
At most, he would eventually use that clone he got from Daekol to go find Belle, but that was it. Which meant that Lex could allocate a small part of the vast breadth of his awareness to handling these issues which were uninteresting. His main focus, instead, was on New Chelsea.
