Lex dusted his hands as he looked out of the window from which he threw the reporter. He wanted to make sure that black and white guy actually left, and didn't come back.
Although he had a tendency to ask awkward questions that Lex didn't know how exactly he should answer, it wasn't so bad at first. Awkwardness could not defeat Lex, plus he felt no threat from the guy at all. Instead, he seemed extremely interested in learning about Lex, and that interest was genuine, so Lex tolerated him in the beginning.
Then he started making some wild accusations about how the real reason Lex was harvesting resources from the Gilded Hollow was because he was trying to make a gift to appease an angry girlfriend - or something along those lines. At that point, Lex saw the little guy less as a reporter and more like a paparazzi for a gossip magazine and just threw him out.
It totally wasn't because Lex was reminded about how, at the prime age of 25, he was still single.
