Cheng Wu looked at the letter in his hand, "Steward Rong, what does the letter say?"
Rong Hou handed the letter to him, and after reading it, the latter was shocked, "How could it be?"
"What are your thoughts?"
Cheng Wu pondered for a moment with his eyes downcast, then leaned close to Rong Hou's ear and whispered a few words, "I think we can do it like this..."
Rong Hou nodded, "Let's do as you say. Come on, let's go check on them."
The two headed towards the courtyard where Lord Cheng was held. Shu Yu was already awake, and a guard had brought breakfast.
But Zhao Xi shook his head and said, "There's poison in this food."
Lord Cheng said, "Earlier, Cheng Xian and the others tried to escape to send a message. Although they failed, the other side has been poisoning our food just to be safe, weakening our strength considerably. It's fine for moving around normally, but it's impossible if we try to break out."
This is why they hadn't tied up Lord Cheng and his group.
