Chapter 1 - The Beginning -Arthur

ARTHUR

Now, I never thought that I would have a good score on the universal exam. But, I guess ill never have to find out.

The test, now that's a hard thing to describe to you all. It's almost as if your brain gets strapped into a simulation, and you have to run through countless—well I guess 6000 if you want to be a dick about it—simulations, landscapes, fears, and anything else negative you can imagine.

I wasn't necessarily thinking I'd be the best at it, or even good at all. But the universe agrees with me i guess. Well, that's where my hell hole of a journey started.

That goddamn test. If I could go back... Well, I'd still take it, but I'd change everything I could. My story isn't one of fluff or happiness. It's an unfortunate saga that I wish I could rewrite, but even if I wish with everything I have, I still couldn't change anything.

The friends that died, scratch that—my true family, the only ones that actually cared for me—I wish I could save them all. But, time is fixed, shitty as that is, I can't change it. No matter how hard I try, it's undeniable.

But anyway, let's get past that melodramatic shit. Since you're still here, I guess you want to hear my story anyway. Although tragic, I have to admit, it'd make a damn good novel.

Hmm, where's the best place to start. Fuck it, let's just start with the beginning, the earliest I can remember.

Let's just get on with it I guess.

Here we go.

Fuck, I really don't want to do this.

Goddamnit, fine!

Once Upon A Ti-

Fine, I'll stop bullshitting you,

I was born into an extremely wealthy family, although not under the best of circumstances. my father was, well let's just summarize—a horrible person.

growing up I faced constant prejudice, not just from my father though. guess what, I'm also a bastard son. heh, lucky me, ammai right.

so, I guess it's not that big of a surprise when I tell you, my family tore itself apart.

I was the only one left alive, afterward. the house had burned down. it was my father's fault, really. he tried to light a cigarette, well you can probably figure it out from there. I had to get transferred to an orphanage, where once again I was abused. an unwanted child.

from then on I got swapped in and out of orphanages relentlessly. I'd be in a new one at least every week. razing as much hell as I could, leaving my mark on this shit stain on a world.

but eventually, my time came, and I turned 15.

the test was upon me, dun dun duuunnnn!

Ya know, how about we lift off from there

'these fuckers really just kicked me out till I get the test done' arthur thought, while walking away form his latest orphanage. it just so happened to be the furthest one fromthe town hall. he couldnt help but think the universe hated him.

starting his walk, he didn't exactly know what to do, the city hall was an hour away, so he just decided to cut through and travel down by the river for a while.

it was relatively boring, although he found a weird-looking rock. it was a weird gold and red and, that oddly enough he thought felt familiar. he decided he might as well take it with him, it couldn't hurt.

the river closed off into a dam, forcing him to walk up the bank and travel through the city, an annoying detour for him. arthur never really liked people, everyone he met either abused or bullied him. he was alone, always had been, and always will be.

the negative thoughts had invaded his mind once more. to the point where he didn't even realize he was going down an alleyway in the slums.

arthur, trying to get out of this area, started walking nervously away. the thought of the tests he was going to popped into his head and he kicked a can into a wall. 'goddamnit, I don't want to take any of these stupid fucking tes-' his thoughts were cut short as he bumped into a tall man wearing a black trench coat.

"Watch where you're going kid" the man spat "o' sum'in might jus' hapin' to ya. Ya know-" he pulled out a large knife. "maybe a lil' sum'in loike this"

arthur backed up, crippling fear evident on his face. but before he could run away, the large man took his chance. he stabbed arthur with the large knife he pulled out just moments ago.

'hmmm, after all that shit I went through, this is how I die, without even making a mark on this stupid planet... damnit... damnit... "DAMN IT"' arthur yelled without realizing it.

As if someone, or something had possessed him. he grabbed the mans arm, and his hand, each with a different hand of his own. and ripped them apart.

the hand, now severed, dropped onto the floor with a THUD. the large man looked at him in a stupor, the adrenaline impairing his pain response. the man fought back, he pulled his still attached arm back and threw a wild swing at arthurs head. it was clear the man had only ever relied on brute strength and size.

arthurs right eye started glowing a mysterious crimson. he threw a kick towards the mans stomach. it was a successful hit with conciderably more power than he expected.

arthurs wound gushed another wave if blood, the knife that was still sticking out of his stomach had shifted and cut him open more when he threw the kick.

"I will not die here!" arthur shouted, but it came out distorted and evil, the same crimson now forming multiple verticle slits over the right side of his mouth. the knife removed itself from him, floating right next to his head pointing at the man "go" he said, the knife flew into the man's throat, digging itself down to the hilt. the knife has purpously missed all vital spots, keeping the man alive for what he would next endure.

his wounds started healing at an incredible speed now without the knife inside him, so fast in fact you could visibly see it happen. the woulds closed and arthur stood there, unfazed, as if he had been fine all along.

the large man now stared at arthur in terror. but before he could even attempt anything, red smoke condensed around the man, who would be screaming at the top of his lungs, if not for his severed vocal cords.

all arthur did was mutter 2 words, "be gone!" but they were spoken with such a power, it was as if they could defy God himself, and as such they did; the man shrunk into a small red and flesh-colored ball the size of a marble. arthur slowly walked over to the marble-sized ball of human. the red glow from his eye trailed past as he walked, giving him an ungodly demonic appearance. he picked up the human marble and ate it, without even knowing what he did, and acting purely on instinct.

little did he know, a girl, the same age as him was watching. raising her hand to her ear, she spoke "Sir, looks like we got a unique one on our hands this time. I believe it's a half-demon."

"WHAT!"

arthur fell to the floor in the fetal position, clutchin his stomach which now felt like he had swollowed a red hot peice of metal. all caused by the little marble.

"and, sir, it seems he is also not half-human,"

"HUH?! then what is he?!"

"the only possibility is that his other half is an angel"
