Meredith's POV
We were on our way back to the penthouse. My head was on the window plane facing the other side of the road. My dad was busy doing something on his laptop as usual.
As I sat in the car waiting for the traffic light to turn green, I took a moment to adjust myself and get comfortable. However, my peaceful moment was interrupted by the sight of a couple that had caught the attention of bystanders.
At first, it seemed like a sweet moment of affection between two people who didn't care that they were in public. But as I looked closer, my heart sank. It was Mathew, my Mathew, with a woman I didn't recognize.
The pain in my chest was sudden and sharp as I realized that he might have seen me. My hands trembled as I tried to steady myself. My dad, noticing my distress, interrupted his work on his laptop to ask if I was okay. Despite my attempt to hide my feelings, I couldn't help but feel heartbroken at the sight of the one I loved with someone else.
