I could not help but pace up and down the floor of my living room as Thea completed the analysis of my fathers fingerprint versus the one on the Crown Jewels. My head was still reeling from the fact that Ezra had willingly; nearly, fallen off the side of a fifteen floor building.
From the moment he was back in my arms I hadn't let him go until we had no choice but to rush back to the car before security caught up. Thea had borrowed her mothers car to take us to the royal archives before we dropped it off and continued on with her car back to the palace. I knew it wouldn't raise suspicion since her mother worked in an office nearby.
No one had seen us leave or enter and we definitely had not stolen anything physical for anyone to notice. Yet I couldn't shake the terrible feeling in my stomach that something was terribly wrong.
