" Well, about that" Andy said,with a sigh " You know how Abby can be sometimes. I'm not really sure she's happy for Zack and I."
" Of course she's not." Mrs. Lawson laughed
" It's called jealousy, darling. Abigail has been jealous of you for a while now. And now look what you have,a handsome young man that's just as wonderful as you are." Mrs . Lawson smiled , jotting her chin towards me.
Damn, I think I like this lady.
Andie sighed,"Well, I guess you're right but I really hope that she gets over it before my big party next week."
Now it was Mrs. Lawson turn to sighed. " Goddess I hope so," she said, patting Andie's shoulder lightly. "But if I were you, I wouldn't count on it. I can't imagine how jealous she will be watching you take your place beside this handsome young man. Anyway, darling congratulations,I need to go find Scott. He slipped off while I was in that quaint little yarn shop across the street." She said ,pointing down the street." He told me he was going to that sporting goods store to find some wool socks." Mrs. Lawson then leaned in to give Andie a hug before wondering off down the street.
Then Andie and I got into the truck and headed back towards the hotel. But she was being really quiet. So I opened the bond to see what was going on. Just to find out that she was a bit conflicted and frustrated. So I started a conversation just to see what was on her mind.
" That lady seems nice " I murmured, just to break the silence.
" She is,she owns a little boutique at Silver Moon." Andie responded, without much emotion in her voice.
"So,did the things she said about Abigail upset you?" I ask, because I'm not very good at beating around the bush.
Andie sighed " No, not really. I just can't understand why Abby would be jealous of me. I mean, with you I can see why. She was like all those other girls at your Alpha ceremony. They all wanted to be the hot new Alpha's mate."
I laughed, " Okay, sweetheart let me see if I can explain this to you. So, tell me about your sister's life right now?" I ask, and watched Andie's expression as she mulled the question over.
Which was a bit comical the way she scrunched her nose up and even shuttered a little bit before answering " Well, she shops a lot and she gets her hair and nails done every week. And " let me see" Andie said, as she tapped her fingers on her chin. " Okay, she dates a lot and she goes to a lot of parties."
" Okay, so what you're telling me is that she spends a lot of money and likes to socialize. Right ?" I asked, as I pulled into our parking space at the hotel and cut the truck off.
Andie bobbed her head " Yeah pretty much" she replied.
I then turned slightly in my seat to face Andie and ask ."Does she earn any of the money herself? Like has she created any thing or started a business like you and Chloe?"
" No, she gets an allowance the same as me and Peyton." Andie confirmed, what I already knew.
" Okay, sweetheart you said she gets the same allowance as you and Peyton. Now I know that Peyton is working in the marketing department and sets on the board of directors at Hunt Pharmaceuticals. So, he draws a salary from there. He also has an allotment from the pack funds as the next Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack. Right?" I asked, coaxing Andie in the direction I wanted her to go.
She mulled what I said over and bobbed her pretty little head confirming what I said was true. " Yeah, Peyton isn't into science or development he's into economics and marketing." She confirmed, again what I already knew That information is in the file I have on Peyton as the next Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack.
"Okay, sweetheart answer me this question. Does Abigail stick to her allowance or does she work at hunt pharmaceuticals for extra money.? I asked, just to hear Andie laugh.
"Lord no" She laughed again."She's always begging mom and dad for money."
"That's what I thought,girls like your sister are looking for one thing and one thing only. And that's how to keep there current lifestyle.Or to improve the one they already have without much effort on their part. And that's why all those girls at my Alpha ceremony was hoping to be my mate. It had nothing to do with me being hot, it was all about money and status. And that's also the reason Abigail is jealous of you. She realizes that you can achieve or even exceed your father's current wealth without a man in your life. She also knows without a doubt that you have every thing it takes, the research knowledge, the intelligence,and the drive to take over as CEO of Hunt pharmaceutical. And she probably realized this back when you were a very young girl. When you started skipping grades as easily as you skipped rope on the playground. Or perhaps it was when you were developing your baby bath products.So, do you see why she's jealous of you?
This time Andie hummed thoughtfully taking account of what I said."Well, I never thought of it that way. I just thought the only thing that could possibly ever make Abby jealous would be something to do with vanity. And since she's breathtakingly beautiful and graceful at least on the outside. That's why I was so confused." Andie replied, with full understanding.
"Now that you understand why Abigail is jealous,there's something else I need you to understand. You laughed when I told you that you're the sexiest girl I've ever met. You probably thought it was just the bond that had clouded my vision or that I was just spouting nonsense. But that's not the case here, I think you're the most beautiful and sexiest girl I've ever met because, you chose to stand beside me. Even though there's nothing you can gain to do so. First off ,You're highly intelligent, secondly you're beautiful and not just on the outside,oh yeah, and kind. And most importantly you can achieve whatever I can offer you on your own." I explained listing each fascinating quality she possesses out on my fingers for visually effect. Then continued because I wasn't quite done yet " However as fascinating and beautiful as you are you still chose me . And that, my love is what made me fall deeply in love with you.I consider myself the luckiest man in the world and thank the moon goddess every single day for choosing you as my mate." I said honestly, then cringed when Andie's load cry of joy priced my eardrums and her emotions overwhelmingly fooled the bond.
" Oh, Zack " she cried " You're so sweet."
" Not sweet, babe just honest." I replied,then suggested " let's go inside and watch a movie." Already opening the trunk door to get out.
But from the corner of my eye I saw Andie's hand moving towards the door. " Don't "I ordered , and watched as she turned back towards me with a scowl on her beautiful face. " Our date isn't over, let me open it for you."
Without any argument she dropped her hand and I scurried around to the other side of the truck and opened the door .
Taking her hand in mine we preceded into the hotel and up the stairs to our room. Where I stopped her again placing both hand on the side of her face and leaned forward for a soft kiss on her lips. Which only lasted for a few seconds,a respectful and gentle kiss.
After the kiss she giggled, " A goodbye kiss, like on a first date, right? So, does that mean you're going to sleep in the truck?" She out right laughed, already knowing the answer.
But I said it anyway. " Not a chance, sweetheart." I laughed,Sliding the keycard into the slot and ushering her inside.
Where I dropped the keycard on a table and jotted my chin towards the bathroom. " Go put your pajamas on and hurry back so that I can kiss you all night."
"That's not part of first dates." Andie complained, with both hands on her hips.
" You're right, sweetheart . I agreed " But the date ended with the kiss at the front door. So right now you're my Luna and an Alpha gets to kiss his Luna as much as he wants to."
" Sounds like some more of your weird rules to me." She huffed, grabbing her bag and sauntering off into the bathroom.
" There not weird, sweetheart there logical." I shouted towards the closed door.
" And just what type of logic have you applied to come up with this ?" She shouted back.
" Hurry up and I'll tell you." I shouted back, stripping down to my boxers and getting into the bed and making myself comfortable.
Then it wasn't long before Andie came sauntering back into the bedroom with a pair of blue and turquoise tie-dyed short pajamas on.
Pajamas that I personally picked out from the chest in her closet. Just to make sure we wouldn't have another night with just a damn t-shirt and a pair of little white silk panties.
She crawled on the bed sat down on her knees facing me and demanded " Okay, now tell me this logic you have about when our date ended and suddenly you get to kiss me all night ."
I smirked " It's simple, sweetheart. As your boyfriend taking you on your first date. I need to mind my manners and be respectful. I need to make sure that I treat you like I would want my own daughter treated.Which I did, we had an adventurous outing and a magical first kiss. Then we had a nice dinner and I walked you to the door ending the date with a respectful kiss. All those things are stuff you can tell our daughter and granddaughter about our first date. Now in the bedroom "I said, vaguely waving my hand around the room." everything is private between an Alpha and his Luna. You definitely wouldn't want your mom and dad to tell you what happens in their bedroom. Would you?" I ask, just to see Andie hold back a grin before she fell forward into a full out cackle.
" Oh goddess,no" she breathed, as she rolled on her side to face me."That might give me nightmares.So, I guess your crazy logic does make sense."
" I told you it would, now come here and give me a kiss. My lips are getting cold."I demanded, pulling her closer and wrapping my arms tightly around her.
She tilted her head up and licked her lips. Well needless to say that was all the permission I needed.
I learned forward and pressed my lips to hers ignoring those little sparks of our first contact and easied into a gentle kiss.
Amazed that my girl was such a good little kisser. She parted her soft lips moving them gently against mine for a few seconds.
Then her tongue peeked out again brushing against my bottom lip. I allowed my tongue to brush against her lips and tongue this time before breaking the kiss.
I then reached over and grabbed the remote handing it to Andie. " Find us a movie to watch, sweetheart." I murmured, reminding myself that we have a long time before she can feel the bond and there's no need to torture myself in the meantime.
